QB Play this year

Dobbs has the speed and allusiveness to be a real threat in the read option. But he has to get better at his reads. Look at the way Auburn's QB or Johnny Manziel "instinctively" hand off or keep the ball. They read the DE or 3 technique in a nano-second and then execute the play that gives them the best advantage. At least once against Bama Josh was so slow in developing the play the Tide MLB got over the top and made the play on him before he could turn the corner. He'll get better as time goes on. He's gonna be fun to watch!

Dobbs really isn't that fast and he definitely isn't allusive . I will say he is sometimes elusive .

It does seem like Dobbs has more potential than Worley, seeing as how he's actually held onto the ball for a few nifty rushing gains. He also sells the hand-off, which could be a by product of his ability to make plays with his legs. I felt like Worley had topped off his abilities, where I see Dobbs being a very solid QB after more 1st team reps. Imagine how well he would be clicking with the receivers if he had the same amoun of time with our receivers as Worley has had.

I don't understand what Butch sees in Peterman. He played god awful and panics all the time when rushed

it was his first start against the Gators too and it will be interesting for sure next year as to who will be the starter for the Vols

I agree, I'm still behind Justin but Dobbs seems to be the answer. Not to say I would be disappointed with Riley, but Josh has done everything asked of him, but needs some help from the OL.
Might just be me but I think he needs to help the OL out. A lot of games the D has condensed the box and just manned up. Have to have a legit ament pass threat to help our run.

I think the offense needs to help Dobbs a whole lot more. The O line needs to give him more time to make reads and throws. The WRs need to be more sure handed and we need to be running the ball A LOT more. That would soften up the DBs and open up some passing lanes. The whole offense is more experienced and needs to step up and help our TRUE FRESHMAN QB in his third official start.

He was also the only other QB that didn't have a redshirt on him. Was a terribad idea to start him though, especially in the Swamp.

I believe the QB situation will be an open one between Fergs and Dobbs next Spring. Jmo. I don't think Dobbs has won exclusive rights to first team snaps. Again, jmo.

I doubt it, if I'm honest. Dobbs is the better run option, but I think Worley's proven himself over the course of the year to be the better quarterback. The offense looked better with Worley in, but Dobbs is a freshman, so I'm going to let him have another year or so before coming to any long term conclusion about his abilities.

But yeah, I think it's Worley, then Dobbs, then Ferguson for the depth chart for spring ball.

"he" originally won the job due to beating out Peterman, not Dobbs or Ferguson.

Hard to disagree with that. He had a leg up on the FR by going through the off season and spring ahead of them. He was the default starter due to experience. He was making some strides before he was injured but his skill set has a lower ceiling than the 2 FR.

I think your future qb is one of the FR and having 2 that appear capable is a good thing.
