I did say it, he’s not being paid 1.2 million dollars this season to watch from the sidelines. You're right, UT is not paying him. Whatever Spyre is paying is just the rate it would take to land an experienced QB in this more limited Spring transfer window. Heupel won't be forced to start him. If the guy doesn't outplay Merk in fall camp, then he just becomes a capable backup...which provides a lot of value considering the circumstances the team was put in. This automatic starter talk is silly. If your point is that the 1.2 million is a sign that they expect him to be the starter, then say that. Otherwise, your post is a little contradictory.
why? UT has paid all of our last 3, and 4 of the last 5, coaches more to not coach.Regardless, of who wins the QB competition in fall camp, UT is NOT paying Aguilar 1.2 million dollars to stand and watch from the sidelines.
I think the difference is that Nico relied on his athleticism far too often. We actually have a QB now who is willing to go through his progressions now, and who seems to have good pocket presence and knows when to run.He does do a good job of going through his progressions, unlike nico did, and milton to an extent
Definitely…my thoughts were based more on what I saw as Nico’s flaws as a passer…holding it too long and consistent inaccuracy…if he can be better than Nico at those things we’ll be really good…throw in a consistent deep ball and we’ll be in the playoff mixIf he can hit the deep ball, we're gonna be trouble for everyone. We shall see.
Orrrrrrr don’t waste your time with HS. They are gonna transfer anyways if they don’t play.Definitely…my thoughts were based more on what I saw as Nico’s flaws as a passer…holding it too long and consistent inaccuracy…if he can be better than Nico at those things we’ll be really good…throw in a consistent deep ball and we’ll be in the playoff mix
