'25 QB transfer prospects (Joey Aguilar)

Obviously its tough not knowing who will actually enter the portal and who specifically we may be talking to....

but regardless of that... some guys I really like are...
- Sam Leavitt, being younger could push our guys to portal, but could solidify position until Faizon takes over.
- Rocco Becht, older guy who could give us a year to allow Merk/Gmac to develop, won alot at ISU, and has a competitive edge to him.
- Aidan Chiles, is someone I am very intrigued by, I feel like he could be a wildcard, and could really take off in Heups system.
- Robertson, had a good step forward this year at Baylor, improved a lot and had some good stats, but feels like a slow delivery and not much zip on ball.

these are the main ones Id be interested in... I like the kid from KState, but I think he's all in there, so doubt he's a reality.

In all reality those QBs aren’t leaving. We always set the bar way too high. It would be phenomenal to land any of the above but it’s no shade at our coaches if they don’t come here.

I agree with you its hard to believe any of this will happen... but if indeed we do land a respected P4 starter in portal... it will show me a lot about the powers that be at TN and there aggressiveness by "tampering" and going to get a starter... because as much as I like the potential of Merk/Gmac... if we roll with them our floor drops and lowers our ceiling likely 7-5/8-4... and could have a tough year... however if we land a Becht or Leavitt in some miracle I think we could potentially contend to make playoffs. 9-3/10-2

This just shows maybe getting HS QB's is not the way to go. Go get guys in the portal after they have shown something. Soon it could be like baseball and a little bit we are seeing from basketball, not as many freshman right out of HS in the future.

My god, is there really no rumblings or inside info leaking out?

This has to be the most tight lipped, boring portal period I can remember in recent memory. After a season altering event like this past weekend, you'd expect a.little bit more to have leaked out by now.

Here's how the last 36 hours so has been from someone I have spoken with.

1. Tennessee is definitely in it (10am)
2. Tennessee is out, it's not happening (2pm update)
3. It's not completely dead yet. (following morning update)

They can’t say who it is bc they are not in the portal but safe to say I think we are a long ways a way from finding out who it is

Makes it sound like a specific QB they have most of their main focus on. Still leaning Rocco

Don’t think it’ll be a “long ways” until we find out. There isn’t that much time to get it done lol

That last bit means it’s not happening, the supposed target is angling for more money wherever he’s at. Depth piece QB and spread the money to others currently in the portal is still the best way to go, IMO.

Yep. I think he wants to play and didn't think he would get much time withe the development of the younger guys. I think is going to be difficult to maintain depth at most positions with NIL going wild.
