Quarterback Situation for Titans

Anyone gave Carson Palmer a thought? I think he was in the last year of his contract, he seems to have fallen off, but the Bengals where terrible this year.

if they don't resign him, it would probably be a pretty decent 1-2 year direction to go.

Again though, still have to wait on a new CBA for that

They're planning on keeping him, at least according to them.

Have you watched Palmer play lately? He's a big reason the Bungles stink. He's a good selection if you aspire to beat teams like the Panthers but he's not capable of much more than that.

I bet Mallett is picked in the top 15 of the first round. He can make all the throws and has played in a pro style offense.

what i've been seeing recently are just two, and there's some iffy-ness on whether they will for certain

People expect Arizona to, but there's also been alot of word that the coaching staff likes Skelton and want to give him a chance.

The 49ers seem to be believed to be the more likely of the two to draft one, but people are extremely unsure what Harbaugh is going to do...as well back and forth on the team keeping Troy Smith as its starter this season.

That all said, the Titans could be the 3rd team to take a QB (if they go in that direction), however they might just as easily be the 1st to draft one the way things stand curently

Carolina was supposedly taking Luck (sp) if he came out before he announced he was staying at Stanford. Was that just because of Luck (sp), or do you think they'll be after a QB in this draft?

no, not now. They wanted Luck because he was just too good to pass up picking 1st. QB is not a pressing enough need for them that they'll reach it with the 1st overall now; none of these QBs (Gabbert included...barring the best combine workout ever) warrant higher than a 5th/6th or so 1st round pick, and that would be with teams that have a need at the position

they will take best overall player now, which will likely be a defender (there are two Dlinemen - a DT and a DE - whose names are the espected here)

I would be absolutely stunned if the Arizona Cardinals begin next season without either drafting a QB highly or bringing in an experienced QB or both. Skelton is not the answer at QB for Arizona, and I don't think that Whisenhunt is stupid enough to risk his job by hitching his wagon to the likes of Skelton for a second consecutive year.

I'd be stunned too, but it's what I've been hearing there

Was more trying to say there's no really for certain "run" on qbs in the top 10

I live in Arizona, and that's not what they're saying here. I think what you're seeing is the typical pre-draft smoke screen.

My guess? We'll sign a cheap veteran this off season and maybe invest a draft pick in one. I think we'll sign Alex Smith and maybe a guy like Matt Leinart and let them battle it out in camp. We'll probably keep Kerry on speed dial if a situation arises where we need him.

Other QBs I'd like to look at are: Matt Hasselbeck (If he doesn't re-sign in Seattle), Chad Pennington, and Donovan McNabb. I've heard rumors that Bud Adams is in love with Cam Newton, but TIFWIW.

I'll LMAO if the Titans sign Matt Leinart.

I just have to wonder why so many people are so high on Kolb. It wouldn't be a horrible move to get him, but what has he done to prove that he is worth anything other than a 2nd round pick at the highest? A healthy Kerry Collins might even beat him out for the starting QB job. Is Orton available?

Denver was reported as wanting a second round pick but Fox doesn't seem to have committed to either QB. My guess they keep him maybe as that veteran back up.

The more I think about it the more I think Alex Smith might be the guy if we go this way. All he would really have to do is hand off to CJ2K and connect on a deep pass to Britt here and there to keep the defense honest.

He has shown flashes of ability but due to a revolving door at the head coach position, offensive coordinator, and QB coaches at San Fran he never really developed. Maybe a change of scenery will do him good.

Alex Smith is worse than VY. He may have a better attitude, but Alex Smith would not turn the Titan's into contenders.

Is Sage Rosenfels (sp) an option?

Carson Palmer is expected to demand a trade, but is also expected to land in the NFC West.

Would love to have him, maybe Fish USC connection can swing him this way. On another note he said he'd retire if not traded.

I'm not big on Rosenfels, he doesn't seem like a legit candidate.

I don't think Chad Pennington's shoulder can handle 16 games.
