Inglorious Bastards.

OMG. This film has the potential to be ridiculously BA. Rumors swirling about Brad Pitt playing lead, with DeCaprio as the main villain.

Other big names being tossed around include: Michael Madsen, Tim Roth, Sylvester Stallone, Bruce Willis, Paul Walker, Adam Sandler (?!), Eddie Murphy(??!!!), Johnny Depp, John Travolta, Harvey Keitel, Fred Williamson, John Jarratt, Mickey Rourke and Christopher Walken.

However, Tarantino now claims that the names were just conversations and nothing more.

Another good article:

So, what’s it about? You mean, besides the graphic scalping of countless Nazis circa WWII? The lead character that Brad Pitt has reportedly been offered is named Lieutenant Aldo Raine (which reminds me of of the Alpa Chino character in Tropic Thunder, but let’s move on). Raine leads a blood thirsty squadron of soldiers (neither review specified about the rumored “war criminals” aspect) called the “Bastards” for a final mission that involves ruining Nazi party plans to premiere a propaganda film in Paris. The chapters are said to form a storyline double helix of sorts, switching from the Bastards to the other main character, which Vulture describes as “a French Jewish teenager named Shosanna who survives the massacre of her family.” She is curating the premiere and has something up her sleeve for the Third Reich as well.

“If you took the bad guy swagger of RESOVOIR DOGS, the uber coolness and structure of PULP FICTION, throw in the revenge angle of KILL BILL, set it in World War II – you get INGLORIOUS BASTERDS.”

Oh my... I just hope he the build up doesn't exceed the actual movie. Still haven't gotten around to seeing the Grindhouse movies yet, so I'm way behind...

Love early Tarantino but his last few have been duds. Grindhouse was pretty bad and Kill Bill was a pretty cool action flick but lacked the great dialogue and character elements of Jackie Brown, Reservoir Dogs, or Pulp Fiction. I hope this will get him back on track.

This movie sounds like it would scream out for Christopher Walken to play some kind of evil, heartless SOB. Sounds like it has good possibilities.

I still haven't seen either of the "Grindhouse" series, but plan on watching both one night. The mixed reviews have me skeptical. My wife and I actually watched 'Dogs recently (first time for her). Great flick.

Death Proof was good- but definitely was not made for cinema. I haven't seen Planet Terror yet.

Yawn... there are better directors out there... But I do enjoy a good WWII/war movie. Sorry, I just dont like the cartoon action scenes. Kind of like the movie "300", I mean it was good, but it wasnt even nearly as good as "Braveheart"... I certainly dont care for his polictical views either

I'm a huge fan of Braveheart, too.

However, if I took the political views of its director into account(Mel Gibson is a anti-semite), it would change my views on the film drastically.

My point: political stances have nothing to do with filmmaking.

What I mean is that his political views are the icing on the cake, its not a game-breaker. What has QT done recently to help out the shattered life of Britney Spears anyway?

I thought it was pretty good. Definitely not his self-proclaimed masterpiece. Reservoir Dogs and Pulp Fiction were better.

The scene in the saloon is among his very best. I can't think of anyone who can build tension with dialogue as well as Tarantino.

I liked inglorious bastards, but Pulp Fiction is unquestionably QT's masterpiece. He will never top Pulp Fiction, and that's okay....because Pulp Fiction is THAT good.
