Question about opposing basketball coaches . .

My number one would be John Calipari. For some reason, I would get more pleasure from beating them (Memphis) than anyone else on our schedule.

And, of course, Orlando would be right there but that is mostly just because he is the head coach at Ken-lucky.

yea. i know i'll get heat from this, but I've always truly respected everything w/ Duke Basketball. so i just have a hatred for Roy.

That's interesting. I went to UNC, so obviously I hate Duke. However, I also have a tremendous amount of respect for Coach K and Duke's program. I really don't understand what there is to dislike about Roy Williams or Coach K.

I agree . . . although I do think there's a little bit of arrogance that surrounds especially the Duke program that makes them a little easier to dislike. When Duke plays UNC, I always find myself pulling for UNC.

If UNC played the AL-Queda All Stars, I would find myself rooting for the Tar Heels for the first time ever.

I guess UNC's program turn outs players with too much class for you to like UNC's program, although there is always Rasheed Wallace. He's not a big enough thug to make you a fan of the program?

No, most of my antipathy toward the Heels stems from my utter distaste for the pompous, overrated WC Fields clone who used to coach them. Since the General already has more National Titles than Saint Dean(along with the head to head beatings he administered in the '81 and '84 NCAA tournaments), it will be especially heartwarming to watch him knock El Deano out of the top spot in all time wins. Also, Rashad McCants, real class guy.

Very respected, not universally loved.
Thanks, I want to get more into Vols Bball this year but I know once I do I will be really into it. How is the Miami Bball program? I would think the athletes they pull that they would be well off.

Not very good. Frank Haith is a decent young coach, but interest in the program is so low that it's almost impossible to generate any excitement. Tough to recruit good players to a place where nobody cares.

True, but since I live in Florida I know alot of high schools in the Miami area have a lot of talent to choose from.

True. As far as "not universally loved" - I think Coach Pearl wants it that way.

Hey hatvol96, you seem to have alot of college basketball knowledge. :good!:

So, by the way, hatvol96, which opposing coach on UT's basketball schedule do you dislike the most? And by reading your posts, it looks like you have a "mild dislike" (lol!) for North Carolina, but what do you think about Roy "dadgum" Williams?

I have no antimosity toward Roy Williams, outside of the fact he coaches UNC. Mark Gottfried and Dave Odom certainly aren't favorites of mine.
