Question about purses/bags

My wife sent me a text this morning and said she got free tickets to the game this weekend from a co-worker so looks like we are headed to Neyland this weekend!!

Seems like I remember there is some new rule about purses and bags in the stadium. The reason Im asking is because our 3 year old son will be going with us (it will be his first time at Neyland!) Will we be able to bring in a bag with his personal belongings like juice, snacks, small toys etc? Any info would be greatly appreciated.

In addition to the link you were given, a few comments.

1. Fanny packs are OK. I strongly recommend this for your wife so she can place her wallet and other true essentials such as her cell phone in it. Then turn it around so the bag is on her front side. This minimizes chances of pickpockets in crowds so thick physical contact is unavoidable. A cord that also ties the latches to your pants or waist eliminates grab and vanish after quick release buckles are opened. I never had problems at UT games but with the economy making people take chances they wouldn't have otherwise, well. . . .

2. I wouldn't bring a 3 year old. The steep steps at Neyland could could result in a fall with serious injury. The kid is small, in a large crowd it's too easy to suddenly lose that kid, he'd be out of your sight in less than a second. He could also end up being trampled, especially if a situation arises that calls for an emergency evacuation.

3. Based on my observations, Neyland is pretty kid friendly and fans tend to be sort of protective of kids in general. But I'd not put a kid that young in potential danger because many don't have the autonomy take defensive or remedying action if needed. Such as looking for an officer for assistance, if none seen, looking for a family with young kids for assistance instead of a single stranger, or going to a concession stand and letting them know he needs help.

Thanks Woodsman.

North endzone sun will be on top of you for 1st half be sure to wear a cover for your head . Hopefully it'll be a sunny day and not too hot.

Thanks. We sat in AA last year for the Troy game and we got more sun than we wanted. Sunscreen is a must!

Wow, if he asks for his damn cereal on Sunday morning, you will know he's been schooled by the Neyland angry fan syndrome. I blush at some of the stuff I hear in the stands and I am not learning English. Good Luck..

Will you have a ticket for the young one. If not they may not let you take him/her in. If I'm not mistaken "everyone one must have a ticket". Not sure though. Maybe someone else know for certain. :ermm:

EVERYONE must have a tkt regardless of age

AFAIK the policy states for nothing over 12"x12" but my wife brought her bag in and we measured it at 14"x15". They just searched it and let her through with it, no problems.

Depending on who searches it, they could be a #(*&@ and not let you in with the juice/snacks but honestly I kinda doubt it. They know you likely won't want to feed your child a coke and a hot dog.

We saw a couple get in with a diaper bag and I'm sure it had other supplies for the kid. It was probably well over the 12"x12" specification. It could matter whose gate you go through and when you go through.
