The reason most of us love Ray Mears is because he brought UT Basketball out of the wilderness and put it on the map. too bad the ones that followed let UT drop off the map.

Don't forget about Don Devoe. He was the most succesful BB coach the Vols ever had.Took us to the final 8 and several sweet 16's. UT dropped off the map after he left.

Tennessee has NEVER been in the Elite Eight. Devoe was in the round of 16 once, when the tournament had a smaller field. We lost to Virginia because Michael Brooks missed some free throws at the end of the game.

I could have swore that we played and lost to Virginia twice, once in the sweet 16 and the other in the elite 8. Oh well I guess my memories aren't so good. He did take us to the final 4..........of the NIT

The MENS program breaks even. The women's brings in money to support themselves, and some of the other women's programs.

Not according to the latest US Department of Education figures. The men's team netted over 6 million in revenues over expenses compared to less than one million for the women. What is more striking is how the ailing men's program brings in so much more women than a team near the top of the woman's sport. That just shows how much bigger a sport the men's game is on the natioinal stage and it suggests that in the long run, the health of the men's program will be a higher priority than the Lady Vols. Money talks and figures don't lie.

It's always refreshing when someone presents the facts as they are, not as they would like them to be.

Is the court gonna have "The Summit" logo on it for men's and women's games. The women's basketball team can do whatever they want to do to the court, but for men't games they need to take that crap off of it. I am tired of hearing about "The Head" being the winningest coach in College Basketball. Comparing men's and women's B-Ball is like comparing apples and oranges.
