Question for recruiting experts...

I have not stated one argument against getting 4* or 5* guys. I was simply pointing out that we have had some absolute duds of 5* players. At UT in the past decade, Our 3* and 4* stud/bust ratio is probably a lot more favorable than our 5* stud/bust ratio.

This is one of the biggest non-issues I have seen debated. You obviously try to get the best prospects in the country, but end up signing the best prospects who will agree to sign. It really is that simple.

No school gets all 5 stars or even 4 stars for that matter. I note that even Texas signs a substantial number of players at 3 stars or lower.

Let's wait to see how it all shakes out. As long as we recruit for need this year, and get good players, it will allow us to continue the rebuilding process. This program will not be completely rebuilt by this next class one way or the other.

Another question? Why do we recruit 6'6 300+ offensive linemen and recruit 6'2 260lb defensive linemen. I know we signed Couch but look at the DT we are recruiting out of high school, they are small compared to the OL. Why not put two 6'6 DT in the middle like we did with Big John and Big Al, thats all I am saying? DT don't have to be fast to collapse a pocket or disrupt a play with penetration. I just have never understood that.
