Although this is probably irrelevant to most, I was wondering if Nike would also pump out team shoes that could be bought by students at the bookstore like Adidas has the past couple of years.

Well, I don't know about that, but with regards to "pumping," I'd love to see them give our players some Nike Pumps. Those things were the bomb diggity.

IMO if there is a buck to be made, I am sure NIKE will fill the desire/need of the fans. I would bet NIKE shoes will make an appearance in the bookstore.

I got some of those reebok pumps when I was a kid and yeah, they didn't help my white a$$ jump any higher at all.

I just hope Nike sells the cool sideline gear we see on TV. Adidas seems to hold back on what is available to the regular joes. Particularly the cool short sleeve pullovers we see Butch wearing sometimes.

I remember getting a pair when I was a kid and running out of the mall, testing to see if they made me run faster. They didn't... mainly because I had to get the cheap knock off brand ... Raabox Pump up the jams. First time it rained they fell apart. But I thought I was pretty cool for those 3 days pumping up my shoes whenever my friends and I went to play some B-Ball. Stupid rain ruined my childhood :p

I had a pair of sweet Mizunos that came with a small pump and needle to put air in the bottom of the heal. Loved those sneaks. Easy slip on type. Soooo pissed when one of the heals blew out.

Wasn't one to wear hightops but the Reeboks pumps were pretty sweet. They looked like mini half basketballs. When did Adidas buy Reebok out anyway??

No, Nike doesn't make a "team shoe" that all athletes at a school get and is sold to the public. That's an Adidas thing.

Each sport will order whatever model of shoes they choose. Nike makes some in fairly common team colors, although ours isn't a common color, so who knows what will be available to the public. I've never seen tea color Nike shoes sold at the team shops at Georgia or Alabama, both Nike schools.

As far as team gear, Nike also makes shirts and other gear that will be exclusive to the coaches and players and not available to the public, same as Adidas. Schools want exclusives for their athletes, just a simple fact.

I'm excited about what the change in brands means for our recruiting, but if you're expecting some huge breakthrough in fan gear, you're going to be disappointed.
