Question on Pili?

You have no right to that info just as I have no right to your healthcare info. Your employer might but you aren't his employer.

Leave the kids alone. They're hurt. They like to play football and they'll play when they can.
It’s “always” been a part of the sports scene to report on injuries. Only in recent years has the whole HIPPA thing become a factor. I’m sure as a “rule” it applies since it is a medical thing - but there’s a huge difference in, IMO, a person dealing with a sports related injury vs. mental health or disease. Just my 2 cents …

Again, you're projecting your guilt for the way a player feels due to injury on my previous posts. I never said anything remotely close to what you're trying to insinuate.

I get it. Injuries are an unfortunate part of football. I guarantee Pili wants to play and is doing everything he can to get back ASAP. We as a fanbase have invested a lot of time and some of us money into the program and so curiosity is natural.

We need Cooper back, badly. Lane has reached his peak performance. I appreciate what he has done for the team, but it's obvious he struggles playing out of his natural position. I want nothing more than for Cooper to return and ball out. Same for Pili and all the others who are part of the team but not able to play. I want the Vols to win every game, so knowing when some of our best players may be able to contribute again is natural curiosity at the least. That's why those coaches get asked all the time. That's why Heup jokes about it during press conferences. It's totally normal to ask questions when you're curious. It's still football at the end of the day and not life threatening.

The NCAA has their own set of rules (basically same as HIPAA). It doesn't say jack squat about not discussing timelines or expected return to play. Othersie our coaches would be in hot water. It also doesn't forbid media or the general public from asking when the expected return might be. You're argument is null and void because you're trying to mesh the two together and shame someone for being inconsiderate of someone's feelings. At no point did I ask what Pili's injury was or if he was healing enough to work out or rehab, etc. I only stated I wish there was more clarity on expected return. It's been 4 weeks since his injury, so it's totally normal to ask if he is making progress that might allow a return. I've read speculation about it, but do my best not to post rumors because that's not productive. Of course that's personal. I still don't have a clue what the injury exactly was. Im sure it hurt, and I'm sure he's going to heal enough to live his life and be a productive member of society. It's still just football, so no need to act like his life may be over as he knew it.

The point is it's no longer insider info when a coach discusses the timeline publicly, such as the quote I posted above from Jean-Mary. That's the closest we have got to knowing if/when Pili could return. It's better than guessing, which is what some others ITT had done, so that's why I posted what we have been publicly told to help clarify his status. No need to go on a multi post tirade about it, but carry on with your outrage about a player's feelings if that's what brings you pleasure.

I was wondering if Pili could possibly get a medical redshirt year due to his injury and it appears he redshirted already at BYU. If not what a terrible break for him and the team as it is similar to the Aaron Rodgers situation.

Does he have “1 year to play 1” as a grad transfer and there is no possibility for him to gain another season?

Losing both Pili and Mays were brutal losses.
We should be absolutely stacked next year! On that note, does Beasley have a COVID year lol?
