The best thing to happen to UT basketball in years has been little Joshy, and he is in deep trouble. We gotta pull out all the stops to keep this guy around!

What has Tennessee basketball done to take advantage of Pastner's failings in Memphis? Absolutely nothing.

Pastner has like a $10 billion dollar buyout.

Coaching doesn't really matter; getting the right attorney on your side is the key.

The media in Memphis sees the writing on the wall. It's highly likely that Pastner is shown the door, once the season concludes.

Here's a little tidbit that'll humor folks. The Tigers are currently drawing 5,900 fans this season. If the Tigers don't have an average attendance of atleast 6,000, the Memphis Grizzlies do not pay the University of Memphis $800,000. Also, if the Tigers were to somehow draw less than 6,000 in two consecutive seasons, the Memphis Grizzlies would reserve the right to kick the Tigers out of the FedEx Forum, if they so choose.

Memphis cheerleaders were literally on street corners giving away free tickets to the next 3 games. The university is trying desperately to get above 6,000. Even during Tennessee's down years in football, it never was like this.

If there was ever a small chance that Pastner could salvage something at the end of the year and possibly give the school a tough decision, I think it went out the door today. Memphis lost to South Florida today. South Florida is 7-21 and got their first home league win.

To make matters worse, there's still the issue of his contract. It is going to cost Memphis quite a bit of money to get rid of him.

The guy is honestly the worst coach I've ever seen, in any sport, at any level. I go to quite a few of their games with friends who have season tickets, and it's comical just to watch him during the game. He is completely lost. I don't mean that as hyperbole- if I was at a high school game and the coach was this bad, it would be shocking. How in the hell this guy went from being the video coordinator to the head coach of a D1 team without ever even being an actual assistant, much less being able to stay there 7 years, is amazing!

They will end up like DePaul did once Ray Meyer handed over the team to his dimwitted son --- from a sold out 18000 seat arena back to 6000 bleacher seat Alumni Hall, been 30 years now and they never recovered

That is very possible, which would be shocking in any respect after the Cal years. But what is truly shocking is that Memphis, while failing at pretty much everything else, has always had a good basketball program, way before Cal. And even given this, Pastner is so bad he may have permanently destroyed it lol. It is hilarious living in Memphis and hearing the Tiger fans now being more willing to talk about football than basketball. It's incredible.

It doesn't help matters that the city has an NBA team that has more support among the younger people. The Grizzlies have gained a lot with its own successes and due to the Tigers program collapsing.

It was a disastrous hire. There was plenty of local talent in the pipeline and brand equity for the recruiting trail when he was hired. He wasted all of it.
