Archibald, Carter, Barnes, and Sundvold are proven commodities. Don't know much about Oppenheimer. I still think it will be Barnes or Sundvold. Hopefully, it will be Sundvold.(hvwarrior58 @ Apr 26 said:Actually, Quin Snyder isn't being considered.
Pearl is considering 5 at this point: Kent State assistant coach Josh Oppenheimer, former Texas-San Antonio coach Tim Carter, former Iowa State assistant Damon Archibald, former Ole Miss coach Rod Barnes and ABA coach/general manager Bob Sundvold.

I'll address everyone but Oppenheimer, who I don't really know anything substantial about. Carter, Sundvold and Barnes all bring the experience of having been a head coach. Carter was a great recruiter at Oklahoma and Oklahoma State in the mid 80s-early 90s. Sundvold was part of the Missouri staff that used to clean up recruiting Detroit. Barnes is obviously a coach skilled at teaching half court defense. Archibald worked for Tark at one time, so you can be certain he's plugged in to the Nike sponsored AAU programs. His involvement with Wayne Morgan at Iowa State probably casts some shadow over him.(hvwarrior58 @ Apr 26 said:What do each bring to the table? Strengths, weaknesses? Recruiting? Defense? Offense?
Has Mike Anderson filled his staff at Missouri. If not, Sundvold might end up back there. his brother was furious that Mizzou didn't even interview Huggins or Majerus. Hiring Bob might be a way to get Jon back in the fold.(hvwarrior58 @ Apr 28 said:Yeah I was thinking the same. I think he wants to diversify his staff and probably wants a coach with Memphis contacts though Barnes isn't too strong in that area. Maybe he will look at Sundvold when Jones leaves to keep a pipeline to Detroit.
