we all love pearl. i even have an orange blazer because of him. but truth is, if he is having a hard time getting his guys to play right and win, i will call him out for it no matter how big a fan i am. sure, i am very patient with him, as we fans should be. but criticism isn't exactly a BAD thing

He needed a point guard!!

He cant coach his fast paced offense without one.

Defense....well now THATS ON THE PLAYERS!!

The bottom line is Pearl has taken the Tennessee Basketball program to a new level- This year we all agree that the team lacked- alot - but Pearl will see us through have a little confidence my friends...

What have you seen to give you confidence that he can take us to the next level (i.e., better than Sweet 16)?

I really like Pearl and I love what he has done with the program. He has energized us and at least now recruits shoot an eye our way when they are considering what program to go to. And bruno, I think Maze is a good point guard, and what high paced offense are you referring to? From what I saw everytime maze called a play every player on the court other than tyler smith walked to where they were supposed to be instead of running and showing some hustle. My only other gripe is when the game was on the line against Ok St, why did pearl call man to man instead of running a 2-3 zone. Could Ok st have hit the 3 and won the game anyway? Possibly yes but whats harder to hit a lay up or a 3 nuff said.

Then they should have all been benched. Simple as that.

Tennessee had been to the Sweet Sixteen before Pearl

I don't think they should have all been benched because then we would have had to pull people out of the stands to play :rolleyes: . But if I was pearl I would tell my team that until the NCAA tourney ends its still basketball season and I would make them run windsprints everyday until they puked. Then we'd see if they show lack of hustle again. Throw some old school football discipline into the mix :)

We have a point guard. Maze tried he'd didn't get any help. The only complaint I have with Maze is he should have shot the ball more. He is a good shot and Chism attempted 3 times as many 3s as Maze did. Granted Chism has a decent outside shot but your center shouldn't attempt more 3s than your pg.

Maze was far from being a good PG.

VolDad since Pearl has become our coach alot of things have changed (i.e First #1 ranking in NCAA, .762 winning percentage- the greatest yet, and last putting a fire in the belly of all Vol fans for the Basketball program) My friend I can remember us being the worst team in the SEC. That no longer applies. Go Bruce Go I know you are going to do big things at Tennessee.
