Quit Dipping/Smoking

Day 4: mornings are tough. Seems to me the mornings were when you best felt the effects of the nicotine when you first wake up and dip. Most of the day I keep my mouth busy with the usual cocktail of spearmint gum and jolly ranchers. Always try to keep myself busy to not think about it. Don’t feel dizzy and no headaches like I had on first 2 days. Definitely slow progress.

Sounds normal. I haven't used in almost 15 years after a solid decade of regular use. I work downtown near the Bruton Snuff plant and my mouth still waters when I get a whiff of them venting the cured leaf. My best recollection is that the physical bad part lasted about three days. I did use that herbal stuff that another poster linked, maybe 3-4 months.

So, is it hemp in a pouch or some other plant material with oil added? I'm not in the market but curious. I noticed a CBD display on an endcap at Kroger in the pharmacy the other day. Stuff is everywhere.

Quitting any form of nicotine is one of the hardest things to do. I've been smoking for 16yrs since I was 18. I've quit 4 times over the years. Three pregnancies and the last was last yr for about 6mnths, but I picked up vaping instead. I kick myself daily for picking this awful habit back up. Unfortunately for me I suffer from anxiety and depression, and nicotine withdrawals kick my anxiety in overdrive. That, and I've been dealing with some intense life stressors lately. Sorry no advice here, just know how hard quitting can be and wanted to share my story.

Yeah I have anxiety too and dipping helped calm me down. Have my moments since I’ve quit but I just put a pack of gum in my mouth and pretend

I used to always say: It's not hard to quit smoking — I've done it lots of times!

My focus right now is to work on getting to a good place in my life and eventually quit. I've had some recent tragedies and trying times over the past few yrs. I can't seem to catch a break, and I desperately need it.

That's why I went with the herbal stuff. I could pull out the can, pack it and still feel like I was putting in a dip. It tasted kinda like an off brand you buy on the road when they have nothing else. Easier to feel like my routine didn't change but still got rid of the bad stuff I was stuffing in my lip

Best of luck
