Quit!!

I guess I've missed all of those threads where posters are actually comparing those two games. Seriously... I haven't seen that many to warrant this kind of apparent outrage. And for those few comparisons that I have seen, the comparison was based more on the fact that both were unique ways to lose a game (which also included a couple of other games), but nothing to do with players vs coaches.

The old fade would have questioned this by asking, "So Pig deserves a standing O for fumbling when the game was on the line?" :p

Pig played his heart out on Sat. Just one of those plays that was less than a foot from going down as one of the all-time great efforts in Neyland to the worst possible result.

There's not an old and new fade, just a coach that didn't have a clue vs the one we have now that now has us on the right path.

The only similarity is the heartache. Everything else was different.

Not really.

UT had the lead late in the game. I think LSU drove about 70 yards and UGA drove 75 yards in under 2 minutes.

I think this team show a lot of heart but both games were lost in fluky ways.

I was at the game, just watched the second half on CBS again. That team gave 100% effort and the fans did, too. Georgia did not beat us and the coach did not cause us to lose. Pig was one of the main ones who put us in the position of winning like that in the first place. If that ball had stayed in his hand a second longer, we would have won. The VOLS were not going to let them score a touchdown again. During that final drive from GA to tie it, The referees inserted themselves with some really iffy calls, and our boys had to fight against that, too.

Agreed. Nothing but respect. I'm convinced the whole team left it all on the field last Saturday.

I agree with that. Absolutely looooved the play, the coaching, the comeback, the crowd. An alien landing on the hill by mistake Saturday would be VFL after that. Recruits seemed jacked too.

Yes there is a big difference and one major one is that the LSU game was played in BR not Neyland. So acting like it was "no big deal" just shows how hatred blinds peoples ability to be objective. Anyone that has been to that field, and seen it from close to the sideline view you would have a TOTALLY different opinion of the last moments of that game. It's funny how so many say Dooley cant coach and always got spanked, and then just want to disregard the close games. So many say the guy couldn't coach a team once they got deflated yet he took LSU in BR to the end after the first play or so was taken to the house. If anything is going to deflate a bad coach and team from the get go that, combined with playing in Deaf Valley, would be it. For goodness sake I saw tiger mascot guy crowd surf from the 1st row to the top row at some pt. Crazy funny.

You literally can't see the opposing team below the waste from one sideline to the other. All think it has to do with Dooley being a bad coach, but cant accept the fact that it could have been the players error (just like Pigs) or another coach that was responsible for counting. I'm certain that no one on here put into the same situation would have been able to count the # of players on the D side from 20 yds out in such a short period of time. I know so many of yall are direct decedents of a Jesus and Neyland combo, and are perfect and understand football better than anyone but at the end of the day it was a fluke mistake made in a crunch. Saying the guy "got lucky" is ridic, and the same can be said about this past UGA game as well. Which I'm not saying at all for the record. I can't remember, but did Dooley say who's fault it was for the error?? I know he threw everyone under the bus so I'm sure he did just cant remember who it was. I hope one of yall can confirm this for me. Thx.

And yes I was there, a few rows back behind our sideline, and i could barely see over the players. So if anyone ever plans to go to a game there in the future I highly recommend you don't buy tix below the 10 or so row. Unless thats all you can get.

They also were decided by late penalties which allowed the opposing team to score. They are related very closely. In the end they were both still losses.

Quit comparing this Georgia game to the LSU game! We lost to LSU because of poor execution and coaching. We lost to Georgia because of a player giving every last bit of effort he possibly could. These are 2 totally different teams guys. Butch is the man

You cannot tell fools anything. Wasting your tome.
