Quite possibly the most perfectly executed play in Vol History

Most nonTennessee fans were certain Miami would easily win the ballgame. The ABC broadcast team also were sure Miami was going to win the game. The stadium was sold out and at least 80% for the fans were Tennessee fans. When Miami scored first, everyone except Tennessee fans knew the game was already over. However, the Volunteer football team and coaches had a different knowledge of what was to Come. By halftime, the fans knew Tennessee was going to win big. The Tennessee defense completely shut down the Miami offense and the Tennessee offense completely tore Miami’s defense apart. It was likely the most dominate team performance I have ever seen from a Tennessee football team. It was almost breathtaking to watch my VOLs play that game. It is still the best I have ever seen a Tennessee team play a football game. I can still see almost every play in my mind . Tennessee fans took over the entire city of New Orleans that night. Miami fans were missing in action and were likely in their hotel rooms licking their wounds because none of them were in the streets. It was truly a NIGHT to remember.

amen to that....the orange French Qtr. was a sight to behold....I lost my voice for 2 days

what about Peyton to Kent first play of the game at Alabama
This and hooker to hyatt for the one that left 3 dbs blaming each other.

I would also add: Peyton bootleg, either of the fg blocks against nd in 91, defensive push that leads to stoerner fumble to send to natty, goal line stand against osu in 95-96 citrus bowl.

The truth is always between a couple of different tales. Somebody had to run things while Majors was out so it might as well have been Fulmer. He did a great job. However he reaped the benefits of Majors great staff. He was far from a coaching genius. No? Then how else do you explain zero/0 P5 schools knocked on his door after his time at UT was over?

On second thought, I changed my vote. My original was the Shuker to Phillips long TD in the '92 Florida game n the storm.

I am revising it to the Clint Stoerner fumble in the '98 Arkansas game. He made the best play for the Vols I've ever seen. 😁😁😁

The play that comes to mind for me was a 2pt conversion against Texas A&M in 2016.

Dobbs at qb walks up to the line and appears to be talking to each lineman changing the play. As he gets to the RT the center hikes the ball to another player, can't remember who but as the play begins Dobbs gets lost in all the confusion and is wide open and catches pass for the 2 points.

Don't know why but that play always sticks out, I guess because I was so confused as it was happening..
