Any suggestions on how to successfully tackle this disgusting problem? I've tried a few times before and quit for about a month but had some beers and started back. Advice? :mf_surrender:

I've heard about the sunflower seeds and will give them a try. I tried the smokey mt and that made me want the real stuff ever more.

Nicotine gum. Gives you your fix and you've got it stuck between your gum and cheek.

Or just start smoking.

Tried to quit several times over the last 30 years. Have not been successful yet. Gone a few months here and there but always fall back into the habit.

Good luck OP.

I quit 1 time in basic training for 7 weeks but when family day rolled around, I stopped and got a can.

That was the only time I stopped since I was 15 and I'm 41 now.

Dipped Copenhagen Snuff for 16 years. Quit this April cold turkey. If you can make it a week, you can make it a year. It's a choice once you are two or three weeks into it.

This... Quit smoking about 6 years ago and decided "dip to help me quit" cause "I'll have no problem quitting that." I've bounced between cigs and dip ever since.

I used to dip but never got addicted. Just stopped doing it.

I'd say weening yourself off of it might be best. And sunflower seeds

You guys sound like a bunch of junkies. Quit the whining and beat the habit. I smoked for 30+ years. I decided about 9 years ago I was quitting.I was smoking 2 1/2 paks per day. I laid them down and have never picked another one up. It is something you have to set your mind to do. If you want to quit you can. The first 3- 4 days is tough, after that it gets easier and easier. If you stay quit 2 weeks and start back it is 100% by choice.

I quit dipping when I was about 14 or 15 years old. Tried it from some older kids in the neighborhood and that was the first and only time. They did me a favor by starting me with Copenhagen. I thought I was gonna come unglued at the seams and the ground started spinning. After that I was like "hell no!"

A friend of mine joined some type of "dip board" (a dip version of VN) that helped him quit. They have some type of moral support and reward system for quitting. He quit years ago now but has become a regular on that board like there are regulars here.
