they are the 2 best teams in the country,,and should play it out,,that's what the BCS was made for to put the two best teams on the field in a bowl game to decide the national championship.

BCS proponents say the regular season is a playoff.

If that's the case, Bama got knocked out of their side of the bracket by losing to LSU the first time.

Anyone making an arguement for oregon stanford or okie state, is more or less butt hurt it's bama. There is not arguement for any of those three teams. Oregon also lost to LSU and lost to a kiffin team. Stanford was destroyed by oregon. Okie state lost to an Iowa state team that I had forgotten existed. Just because some of these weiner teams won conferences doesn't mean they deserve an NC title shot.

Oklahoma State only whipped a load of top 25 teams and all.

If nothing else, this provides great ammo for creating a playoff system. I am for a playoff system, but creating one that is fair and works is tough. I've seen a few good models out there, but nothing perfect yet. Also, if you go to a playoff system, how many game is too many? We already play 12, plus a conference championship game, then playoff??? That's a lot. You could easily add 3-4 more games to that with a playoff sytem.

At this point a simple plus-one would suffice.

Okie State absolutely has an argument. They beat more teams with a winning record and they beat more ranked opponents. Also, OSU won their conference title.

I'm not saying OSU is better than Bama. I am saying that Bama is not clearly the second best team.

Huh? After LSU, how was it much harder?

Arkansas is arguably better than both Baylor and OU.

Bama's win over Florida has been dogged lately, but the Florida team that Bama defeated was much different than the team that finished the year. In reality, that Florida team was very different because they played Bama.

Alabama has no qualification greater than OSU. It took Saban getting on the phone and begging other coaches to vote down OSU so Bama could get into the championship game. Once again they get in by a vote instead of having to earn it.

Posted this in another thread yesterday but I'll repost anyway.

I was for a rematch initially but now I think OkSt should get the nod. While I do think Bama is the better team ON PAPER they only beat 3 teams with an above .500 record (Penn St, Ark &, Auburn). OkSt beat 7 (including OU, Texas, Baylor and Kansas St.).

Now I know the argument is "but its the SEC" and normally I would agree. Bama's East opponents were 5-7 TN, 6-6 Vandy, and 6-6 FL. Some say UGA backed into the SECCG because they played a weak SEC schedule. Well, outside of LSU (loss) and Ark so did Bama.

Again, I think Bama would beat OKSt but its about your season resume and not who looks better on paper. OkSt's resume looks a little better.

:good!::good!:
I agree with you.

With that said, if LSU beats Saban again this year... this won't be just a NC, it will be epic.

I would think the Baylor and Oklahoma (maybe) wins are their only real big time wins. Alabama's schedule was much harder just in conference.

Really? Ole Miss (2-10), Miss St (6-6), Vandy (6-6), TN (5-7), FL (6-6) not much better than Big12 this year.

In reality, outside of LSU and Bama, the SEC is down right now. I didn't include ARK because if TN, FL, and UGA are where they should be then I'm not sure they would look all that great.

The Big XII has a legitimate argument for being the top conference this season. I don't think they are, but it's close.
