One of the greatest shows ever. Used to watch reruns on tv land every Saturday with my dad. Sad day.

Andy Griffith was ok, but a world without Ben Matlock isn't worth living in.

That's sad to hear. I'm living in Goldsboro, NC. I coached football at Goldsboro High School about 3 years ago. I heard he was a teacher, English I believe, at Goldsboro High School back in the day. A lot of the local businesses have photos of him up. All accounts I've heard claim he was a great guy.

Very sad day. He is a true legend in every sense of the word.

He's definitely on the "Southern Mt. Rushmore", right?

Very sad! My all time favorite TV show is The Andy Griffith Show. I think I read somewhere that it's the only TV show to have never been off the air. It has always been on somewhere in syndication. Anyway, Andy Griffith will live forever in my house as I have every episode on DVD!

My favorite TV show ever. I watched many an episode during the afternoons when I was in college.

I need to buy a box set.

I have all the B&W seasons. I never cared for it once Don Knotts left and it went to color. He and Andy Griffith together were just magic!

You could sit and watch the Andy Griffith show with any age group present and everybody could find something to like about it.

So many memories associated with his shows. Including my oldest son who, at 3, always wanted to watch "Maplock". He watched it with his grandmother. lol
