Morris was Gruden's defensive back coach after Mike Tomlin left. He is the prime canidate to be the dc of a gruden staff. Morris was a head coach at Kansas State while Josh Freeman and Jordy Nelson were there. Raheem runs a 4-3 front, with a lot of zone coverage. Our d would look more like Wilcox again.

FYI...Morris was never the head coach at Kansas State. He was the DC for one year (2006).

Raheem Morris is not a guy I like to be on our staff. He spent most of his time in Tampa just hanging out with the players, and being their buddies out at the club. Sounds good to be a players' coach, but he seems to have no ability to demand respect from his players. Also, he called the Defense last year in Tampa, and we all saw how poorly that went.
The defensive backfield in DC has even gotten worse this year, since he's taken over that gig.
Could just be me, but I'd much rather look elsewhere.

I have confirmed some members of Gruden's staff. The initial list I posted weeks back is pretty much spot on.

Redskins have no pass rush because their best DL are out for the year. Morris is an excellent coach...he'll be dynamite on the recruiting trail.

Morris is good with linebackers. If Gruden were coach, I wouldn't have a problem with him as DC.

correct, everyone in DC has been praising Morris. They want to promote him to DC

You probably know more about his job in DC than I do. I just know that I was listening to a Charlotte station a few days before the Panthers/Skins game, and they had a DC sports radio guy on the air. He was going off on Morris's job and predicted (correctly) that even Carolina would have their way with those DBs.

If this is true, I'd rather have Gary Patterson/Dick Bumpass.

I missed it. Who was on the list? Anybody have a link at least?

I don't remember all of it, but it was

Shoop at OC
Morris or Zook at DC
Also included Tee Martin, Rich Bisaccia, and he hinted at a former TB player who was doing color commentary now...which means John Lynch.

Couldn't remember the rest.

He said Shoop or Jeremy Bates at OC.

That's right. Also said Bates for QB coach too, if he wasn't OC.

And it's already been reported that Gruden has been talking to Bates.

And now Morris is involved too. People are saying Raheem is being courted for a college job by Gruden.

I mean, if you take a staff of Graham, Morris, Tee Martin, Gruden, Shoop, along with Pittman and whoever else he brings in, then we won't have to worry about recruiting.

I honestly think if Gruden is going to do this thing, he's going to get a staff that's going to recruit so well that he will only have to spend minimal time recruiting.

Half of the defensive backfield for the skins is injured/suspended and the rest is made up of Madieu Williams. I'm not too judgemental of Morris' performance and think he would kill it in college.

This, he'll be used to "seal the deal" for high profile recruits. He'll walk into a living room and put his shiny Super Bowl ring on the table and say, check this out. Then he'll discuss his numerous connections to the NFL and then say "Let's watch some MNF". :salute:

Did Shoop have anything to do with the trouble UNC was in? Not suggesting he was, I really don't know.
