Rain delay at Martinsville....

oh no, i didn't get that impression.

i just think it's ridiculous to say that his troubles can be placed squarely on his crew chiefs shoulders, when in fact Jr. is short on talent himself. not to say he can't drive, but he's not ever going to be or ever was his dad. that's not to say with the right amount of luck he can't win a Cup, i just don't see him doing it.

i think most people are starting to realize that though.

well either way, they screw up at least once a race on pit road; whether it be pitting at the wrong time, pitting when pit lane is closed, or arguing over 2 or 4 tires, theres constantly something going wrong.....it just seems the drivers who are consistently at the top have a great relationship with their crew chief, and their crew chief can tell what they need to do just by knowing what his driver likes or needs....i dont think dale jr and tony jr have that
Jr. and Eury Jr. probably have the best/closest relationship of any driver/crew chief combination out there. It's not that they don't have the right chemistry or anything, it's just that they're not... I don't want to say just not that good, but they're just not the best at what they do. With that said, while they don't have the championships, they've still managed to be one of the top combinations in the Series since they've been here as far as wins, top 5s, and top 10s go. I'm pretty sure that in the time they've been together, they're in the top 5 in all of those categories.

Quit comparing him to his dad with talent. No driver in the history of Nascar has had Dale SR's talent. No where close. They say who could actually see the draft. That isnt fair to compare thier talent, Sr is the greatest driver to ever live.

they obviously have the closest relationship bc they are cousins, which allows them to bitch and fight with each other and get over it; however, they dont have a great relationship......i mean Jr made the decision to fire him (trade him, whatever) so they obviously have problems

you people are CRAZY!!!!

the only reason Jr has even sniffed the success he has had is because of Eury Jr. remember when they switched crew chiefs and teams? yeah, how did that work out for them?

the driver is just as much to blame as the crew chief.
When Jr was winning more than one race a year Tony Eury Sr was his CC. I've never been all that impressed with Tony Jr.

As much as it pains me to say this, I'm afraid he is going to be the 21st century version of Kyle Petty. Several wins early in his career, but never able to live up to the long shadow of his father.

atleast Jr is competitive. Kyle has always been a hack. seriously, i can't even understand why he's still in a car.

OK, i know yall are gonna slam me for defending this. But here goes, that could cause major problems at a track like Martinsville. You have to be on top of you game at short tracks that small. And your eyes are your most important thing.

But if yall wanna know why he hasnt won as much as he should is b/c of his pit strategy. Not the actual pit themselves. I think his guys are top 3 fastest in Nascar. Jr and Eury Jr. do not pit at the right times when green flag pit stops cycle through. Until they can get good strategy going, he will not win.

Chad Knaus is a Hendrick queer boy, but he is the #1 Crew Cheif in Nascar. By a long shot.
I haven't thought of it like that......That's a good point.....That's a good point.....No doubt that Jr. has the pit talent to be better in the pits....You're right, Knaus is the best crew chief in NASCAR as much as it pains me to say it....He's hard to beat

Some of the decisions that the 8 team have made this year has me shaking my head. The pit stops that are supposed to be strategic are not. The driver and the crew chief are both to blame. Sometimes what Tony Jr. says is best, Jr. will say it isn't and vise versa. I know that Jr. used to have the last word on what to do, I don't know who does now, but they need to get their act together.

I do think that Dale Jr. is a great driver. I have followed him since he raced in Myrtle Beach back in the day. I have never expected him to be as great as his dad, no one will ever be. I know that some people expected him to be as good as his dad and those people are delusional. I would like to see him win at least 1 Cup Championship though. I don't think that is wanting too much. I will still be his fan if he doesn't.
