Rainey says FL better than both AL and LSU

Kind of hard to believe he meant it the way it is portrayed here, out of context.

If he is saying he believed prior to the games that Florida was better, well, maybe we can chalk it up to youthful exuberance overwhelming common sense.

If he is saying after the games that he believes that to be the case, then we might need to have him tested for concussion.

This is exactly what I was thinking. I havent gotten an answer back from the @mjdirocco fella either. But I twitted him. (misspelling intentional)

Having attended the WLOCP since 1983, in addition to a trip to Athens in 1995, I agree 100%.

In my travels, it's UGA, Ole Miss, UF...then everyone else.

I was in the marching band at UF for the 83 game. And had an interesting interaction with a chick from the uga band. . :hi: :good!: at halftime.

from what I know of uga chicks, I am inclined to agree. But I need to investigate further. I have never made the trip to ole miss. So yall can feel free to fill this thread with proof. . . . . :)

Im not going to argue with most of your post, but late LATE LATE in the 4th quarter, you still had starters in on offense. LATE. And, just incase you didnt get the point, it was LATE in the 4th quarter. Couple minutes to go. INCLUDING YOUR QUARTERBACK.

No disagreement that the offense still had Lee in there, I said "he was playing against 4th string guys", that is LSU D. Of course, everyone gets to play against LSU 3rd string on D as they rotate 3 strings through 7-8 positions on D. I actually said something incorrect, it was in the 4th quarter when I started to see the bottom of the bottom of the bottom guys come in.

When you see Welter, Muncie, Duplessis and Johns in there you are basically getting down to walk-ons next. As they are probably on 3-4th strings in the depth chart.

I will end it there, it was a bad lose, Florida will recover and one day the tables will be turned and kick our butts.

We have players that say stupid things too, no offense intended.

:) :) No offense taken.

I try really hard to make sure that people can tell I am smiling when I am posting. Yall kicked our butts, plain and simple. It sort of comes down to "If you cant stop them, you deserve to get yer butt kicked" And my all-time favorite "If you dont want to suck, dont suck!"

You are also right about the cycles, and it will all come back around someday. I hope for our sake that it is not too long!!! But I would rather lose to LSU and Bama when they are THAT good, than lose to teams that we SHOULDNT lose to, like a couple of Auburn losses, and things of that sort.

The last 2 weeks reminded me of the Curb Stomping that Nebraska put on us back in the Fiesta Bowl (Jan 96??) Incredible talent out there. And Florida has a ways to go to solve these problems.

I played 2 years of semi-pro football back in the 80s. I was second string WR. The first string guy would come to the games in the back of a police car (He got work release every saturday to play in the games). He would play the first 2 1/2 quarters, while we went up 63-3 and then I would come in and wrap the game up. So I know a little about that 4th quarter and still airing it out issue. haha. We racked up a lot of stats in the 4th quarters, and then we would purposely give the ball over on downs at the 1 or 2 yard line!! Good times.

I got this response to my twit earlier today.

mjdirocco Michael DiRocco
@
@gatorbillmsu Rainey: "They’re 2 pretty good teams but I felt that we was better than them but they [were tougher]."

So, Im guessing that he thinks the Gators have more talent that the showed on the field. I cannot defend him on this.:popcorn::crazy:

From my experience living in both Southern Georgia and Mississippi, they rank...

1. Elle Esse Eaux
2. Ole Miss
3. (Tie) Georgia/Florida
5.-11. Everbodyelse
12. Vandy

Seriously, there's something in the water on the Mississippi/Louisiana border. I remember when Britney Spears first became popular I was trying to figure out what all the fuss was. She looked like all the other academy girls.

Also, being a hottie is actually an unofficial requirement at Ole Miss. MSU, notsomuch...

Wait, what kind of talent was Rainey talking about?

GatorBill, thanks for being a good sport, nice to meet people with the ability to agree and to disagree politely.

Florida will be back, you get great talent and just need time to get back in the right cycle. I find these forums funny, it seems like either you are great team or you are the worse team, when realistically there is such a small difference between teams.

I have no doubt LSU will get it's butt kicked sometime in the future, I just hope it's a ways down the line. Florida had a good run, eventually they will be on another run.

To be honest, I don't even know the context that Rainey made that comment. Either way players make dumb comments, heck we have a coach that makes dumb comments every week. :) The only thing about his comments that might hurt is Florida could potential win the East and play LSU again.

I feel like Florida has great talent but a HC is rarely going to help a program in the short term.

Nice talking to you.

I once attended a party at Vanderbilt. Was surprised both by the quality of the coeds and their friendliness.
