Rajion Neal's draft status

I think Neal is a steal in this draft. I know that he is faster than a 4.57, and the kid has great hands out of the backfield. 5-6 round would be a good time to take a chance on him. Good luck RN!

Not a chance. Last year's team had no talent in the secondary, at linebacker, at tight end, at quarterback, at wide receiver, at defensive back, at outside linebacker, and at defensive end.

McCullers and Couch weren't bad. Both will be drafted. We weren't hurt inside with the run, it was off tackle that killed us.

McCullers was flat out awful. I am still puzzled as to why he continued to play especially in light of the fact that Jones/Jancek seem to like smaller quicker DT's.

You are still wrong btw... but by all means, continue to be delusional.

I hear you, but still disagree a little bit. Couch missed virtually all season, so while I agree that he is a talented player, he wasn't available the majority of the year. Hood was an undersized, under talented kid with a lot of "want-to" and not much else. O'Brien registered all of 12 tackles in 12 games. Saulsberry looked like he was coming on but he, like Couch, missed virtually all season.

McCullers was, IMHO, absolutely awful all season long with the exception of a handful of plays that most of us would struggle to catalogue here. He gave very little effort and has been labeled as a soft player, and rightfully IMO. I give the staff a fair amount of blame for McCullers' poor play.....CBJ said the "defense would go as Dan McCullers goes".... he was right. They needed him to play at a high level and they couldn't pull it out of him.

If he gets drafted, it'll be based on his size alone and because a GM thinks they can pull the potential out of him, not for anything he did while at UT. JMHO.

We didn't have a whole hell of a lot to work with regarding that position.

I thought your argument was that we had talent?

I like rajon neal in the nfl. He's got good hands. Kind of reminds me of ray rice, but a little bigger coming into the draft. the nfl loves do-it-all backs like him.

I like Rajion, but he lacks a toughness running the ball, an ability to break tackles and elude defenders that a guy like Rice definitely has. I hope he makes a roster but I think it's a longshot that he does.

Rajon will be solid in the league. Much of volnation gives him a tough time, but he has a real shot to be pretty good. He will have to run tough though. Can't bounce it out as easily in the NFL.

Everyone gave Arian Foster a hard time too, I think he turned out to be just fine in the league.

True. Foster did surprise me given how poorly he finished at UT and the fact that he went undrafted. Hope Neal surprises as well.

Neal looks a lot like foster in size, body type, speed.

He just needs the right team.

3rd round ..... That's top 100 or so. Never really saw that on the field

If you read his draft profile the big things that stood out to me,

1) Agile/shifty for his size
2) Does not have finishing speed ie gets caught from behind (saw that several times)
3) Had a great senior year
4) Doesn't break tackles well or create yards after contact

All seem like fair assessments to me. They praised his agility and size though; he's def projected to get drafted.
