Raleigh on Draftees

Hobock.. I know for a fact that my peeps in Memphis know this Morton kid pretty well they tell me that his academic ability is very limited... and that he is going to sign with the Yankees.. unless your boy TR has someone else take his classes and exams for him and uses someone else's entrance exam scores to get him in.. I dont think his "schoolin" is top "O" his list of life's ambition for him. The kid will be better off going into the minors for whatever he signs for.... then like every other kid fights to get to the show.

College isn't for everyone. If your "peeps" in Memphis are right, he should definately get on the bus and follow his dreams. I wish him the best if luck. The selfish side of me hopes he decides to get on I40 and head up to The Hill. :)

That would be nice if he did ..But He does not have the grades.

You know, that's strange. Matt Kirkland supposedly has the same problem. It's common to sign high-school kids that go really high in the draft but we signed to kids that couldn't qualify? I'm scratchin my head on this one.

Ask Raleigh about that. He'll probably scratch his ass.

If Kirkland and Morton can't even qualify to get into school, this class is starting to look pretty weak. Hawkins and Toles were both taken in The top 4 Rounds. That means they will most likey get a substantial check. Were left with Ethan Bennett and the rest are pitchers. We definately need the pitching depth. Bennett will try to beat-out King to fill the vacancy left by Forsythe.

I know Raleigh hates it but it looks like we'll be playing small-ball next year. Liles, Norfork and Fritts can wreak havoc on the base-paths. Someone needs to teach Norfork how to drag bunt. We'll have Duffy, Thurber and Stubbs to knock 'em in. That's my favorite kind of baseball. Whitey Herzog style!!!

Small Ball usually requires a coach who does not have a small mind.

Sending your guys up to the plate to swing for the fences takes little thought, planning or coaching. Which is likely why Todd likes it.

Unfortunately, we have shrunk our park and it is now the smallest (or one of the smallest) in SEC. We will be playing small ball while everyone else will be swinging for the short porches.

We need to close Todd Helton Drive now and push the fences back to 1992 level.

Although it was a foregone conclusion. Chris Hawkins signed with the Blue Jays.

Let's hope Andrew Toles feels like he's worth more than 4th round money.

Kentrail was a 14th round pick out of high school. 2 years later he was the 39th over-all pick and got $1,200,000. Dang, that's alot of zeros!!!

Save your fingers. Hobcock isn't interested in anything truthful or negative regarding His King Of Retards, Rolly.

Let them roll(y) in their fat for the end is nigh! :dance2:

Everything you said is true. I waited up till you got off work. It took you a while. Must have been a busy night at the peep-show.

Don't know if this has been reported but Jimmy Hyams said Kirkland signed his deal with the Dodgers.
