Raleigh's Future?

I guess you work concessions.

Either way, my point is its not fair for you to downplay what Raleigh has done then expect all kinds of respect for who your sources. That's kinda backwards.

i just stated that winning in the SoCon isn't as big as so many want to pretend it is. Thanks for being such a classy douchebag in all this though.

just forget it "dude". It's obvious Raleigh is a god and is sacred ground. He can not do wrong.

Glad you ended on what is so obvious - your strange dissing of a first year coach is so pathetic considering your whining about the lack of cred your anonymous little cronies get.

it also amazes how so many are so quick to come in and defend Raleigh even though truth be told we all know very little about him. For what it's worth, I probably defended him more than anyone else during the season. I'm just telling you what my friends around the game and with connections to UT baseball have told me. I find it comical that so many want to pretend they don't know anything, even though you have no idea what their connections to the game of baseball are. Most on here don't know me, nor do they know what I'm currently doing to make a living. I don't have to divulge that part of my personal life, but let's say I meet more people around collegiate and professional baseball daily than just about anyone on here. Save perhaps OrangeWilly i think.

Just calm down there slick. I could say the same for myself. And I know I am closer to the Raleigh situation than you are, because I talked to the man on a weekly basis during the season. I could get into a real pissing match but it probably wouldn't be too good for what I do either.

We can have differing opinions and views because I'm sure we talk to different people. This is a slippery slope we're running here and it won't matter just because we can't base much on what he did during his first year here, simply because there was a lot of good and a lot of bad and a lot behind the scenes.

I'd rather point to the fact that he is successful against top D-1 programs while fielding teams far less talented with less resources. I don't really care about SoCon banners.

UTLCA, as I have said to "dude" way too many times, and as I'm pretty sure you've commented on, I also share the belief that Raleigh needs more time to prove himself. I stated in just about every thread where someone came in questioning Raleigh's first year performance.

Unfortunately he lost a couple of highly rated guys to the draft this year.

But I hope for his sake he straddles the line rather than crossing it.

2005 wasn't too shabby

Well, I mainly mean that the weather isn't that great during the NCAA season, and the facilities could use an upgrade (although that is sort of in the works). It's hard for me to tell if a competent coach could get UT into respectable territory, or actually win something. In other words, was Rod the problem, or is it just that Tennessee will have its spurts but never be the king? NCAA baseball coaches and teams have so much stacked against them with the way scholarships (and the draft) work that I'm just not sure you'll see a sustained success at UT.

Anybody know why Todd Raleigh didn't recruit former Vol Mike Lincolns little brother Long beach State took him

Should have never fired Delmonico in my opinion. He had many, many great players, went to 3 CWS, was a fantastic recruiter, and a decent coach.

Who ever said UT baseball is a graveyard has no idea what he/she is talking about.

Weather? The back to back NCAA champs from 2 years ago, Oregon State, play their home games in....Oregon. They play in snow, cold rain, etc...

I don't see any southern team ever being a consistent national power unless it is a team in the state of Florida. The best talent is concentrated in Florida and the West Coast. It will take one heck of a recruiter, like Delmonico, to get players from those areas.

thank you Mrs. Delmonico. Anyone without the surname Delmonico that thinks keeping UT should have kept him around has no idea about managing a baseball team.

Delmonico was just good enough a coach to get into the CWS every time he was on the hot seat.

His teams played some undisciplined ball, though. I've never seen so many errors from the same guys over and over.
