Rams to trade number 2 pick

Griffin is a franchise QB, and despite some weaknesses, they have enough talent to compete for the next two years.

Griffin has the potential to be Aaron Rodgers. You trade for that.

That's almost the exact logic the Minnesota Vikings used when they traded away the house to Dallas for Herschel Walker in '89, feeling like they were only a decent running back away from a SB run.... FAIL!

Reading the MMQB. Kind of getting annoyed with how analysts are acting like the Rams are some kind of genius franchise making bold moves. Let's be honest. They've sucked hard enough for half a decade that they've horribly earned a bunch of top picks. Most of which have sucked. Now they get the opportunity in a year with two good QB prospects to be the recepient of a bunch of draft picks. They didn't even have to negotiate the return, the demand was high enough. They literally did nothing but have the second worst record. Geniuses!

you could say the same with the Redskins for being poorly run that they are in this predicament that they have to make this move.

Apparently the Skins and Rams staff are good friends, so the Browns called and made their pitch and the Rams staff something like "Thanks, we will call you back" but didnt call them back because the Skins were offering exactly what the Rams wanted

Yeah, but the Skins are at least taking a gamble because they could still use those other first rounders. But the Rams have no use for Griffin (getting rid of Bradford is really not an option...yet). They literally had to do nothing, no thought, no selling (RGIII sold himself at the combine), etc. Just pick up the phone and say ok.

I don't think Matt Millen would have messed this up.

Have a winner (official this Tues):

Redskins trade up to the number 2 pick overall, in return giving the Rams their first round pick for the next 3 years (not like snyder's ever really been too big on the draft over free agency) and this year's 2nd round pick

Rams raped the Readskins with that trade.

Can't believe they traded that much for the #2 overall pick. Not likely that this will payoff in the next 3-4 years, if ever.
