It does matter. UT along with Michigan are the only two teams left in NCAA that have never lost 8 games. I dont want this senior group to be that team. They have been through enough, please don't get labeled with that 8th loss.

GO VOLS Play for Pride. Beat those Cats

It is actually Ohio St as Michigan went 3-9 a few years ago with Rich Rod

edit : Heh I should learn not to respond to post before I finish the thread

Basically what the OP seems to be saying while trying to spin it positively is if this staff couldn't win 6 or7 wins with this roster then there is little reason to believe they won't do even worse next year... I have been saying that since well before the season.

I disagree with this. Our roster will not be worse despite what many people think. Losing our O-line is not the worst thing that can happen - they've been very average for the better part of 3 years. North will be a superstar, and the QB play will be much improved no matter who is starting. Hurd could be a difference maker from day 1 as RBs have an easier time transitioning from HS to college. We are bringing is some JUCO studs in the front 7 on D that will contribute right away and both sides of the ball will be in their 2nd season in Butch's system. The road schedule is easier with Bama, UF, and Mizzou at home, etc. So, I just don't see us being worse next year. I'd like to hear your reasons why we will.

The reason it's a big game is because no one gives a damn about the game at this point. That being said a coach should be able to motivate his players to win games where they have a talent advantage. Despite what people say we didn't have that advantage in the Vandy game.

BS about Vandy having a talent advantage. But whatever helps you sleep at night.

That's sad to hear. But when looking at it, your boys have never know UT to be that good.

No. I'm from TN. I just live in FL.

Why did you make that statement?

I made that statement because, being 1 of only 2 teams to not ever lose 8 games in a season is quite an accomplishment.

Think about it 116 seasons and 7 is most losses you have ever had.

I said you must be from FL because your analogy of Trump is not near the same thing.

It would be more like this, In a given year I have never picked more than 7 losers in the stock market for the past 116 years. And only I and Warren Buffet can say that.

This is a positive thing for Tennessee that sets them apart from any other University in the country, except Ohio St. of course.

Put that in you pipe and smoke it.

Have a Happy Blessed Thanksgiving. Don't go to Walmart.

No not a liberal. A good old boy UK player driving to a hunt after a night of drinking. He wrecked & killed. RIP

It was a tragic accident that the liberals used to eliminate "The Beer Barrel:. And I'm sure that has stopped many a college student from drinking.

1. It's crazy that this spring we'll be in another QB controversy. I believe Dobbs is a better option than Worley, but none of us know how Ferguson will turn out, so it's essentially still a 3-man QB race (bc I think Peterman will transfer).

2. I think we'll see a TE emerge next year. If we had even half the production of Rivera this year, it would've made a difference in at least the UF, UGA & Vandy games. Here's to Downs, Helm & Wolf stepping up to the challenge.

3. Not worried about OL. We'll be fine. I AM worried about the DL. Aside from Vereen, who do we have on the ends?

4. Special teams... your guess at who's taking over is as good as mine.

KY game is a double edged knife for BJ. On one side, very few people will get excited about a win and a big win will only raise more questions about why his staff couldn't get the team up for VU. On the other side, a loss will push more folks into the camp of people who will clamor for significant staff changes if there's not significant improvement in the win column next year thereby setting up 2015 as a make or break season for BJ.

Dumb but serious question. How hard is it to learn a playbook?

I think we have a mix. Some have the ability to learn the playbook but lack the skills to execute it. Then we have some who can't grasp it at all. Hell, I'm grasping here. There might not even be a playbook.

Think you might actually be right. Surely after 13 or so weeks though the players would know the play book.
