Random, Thoughts, X,XXIV

The Director of operations at O'Charley's went to work for the guy that used to own Major Wallaby's at Rivergate. He owned an Applebee's franchise that had 4 stores. I was hired as GM of Thompson Lane and was going to make Area Supervisor soon. That all went to crap when dood got all cocained out and lost his franchise.

AppleSouth took over and wanted to transfer me to their training store in NC. Would have been a good move at the time, but I got cockey with the new Director and told him and them to go have sex with themselves.

I was there 3 years. Haven't ever been inside another one and would never eat there.
I think I ate Applebee's once and got appetizers I am surprised it's stayed open so long. I like Logan's good and not that expensive then Ocharlies and Outback. It's been years since I have been to a nice place to eat.

I haven't been to O'Charley's since probably 95 or 96. They were solid back in the day for a high volume casual dining joint. Best fried cheese ever.

Last time I went was on the strip there in Ktown and we only drank beer. Don't remember food

We used to eat at O'Charley's a lot....liked the rolls and the cheese sticks back in the 90s for sure....went there when the kids could eat free on certain nights.

Speaking of rolls, this is random: as the "brown-and-serve"-type go, those Kings Hawaiian sweet rolls are pretty good. We just discovered them fairly recently.

We used to have a local place, Redbones, that had the best battered cheese wedges. It was the restaurant’s own recipe. I loved those things to the point I tried to replicate it, tried being the operative word. When they shut down, It was the only reason I stopped at the O’Charlie’s in Cookville, on my way to Nashville.
