South Beach Sucks.
Unless you're a single gay alcoholic with plenty of money and care nothing about the beach, Key West also sucks. A small child has zero business being in Key West.

Marathon Key is where I'd go. If I were going to the Keys.

Of course, that's just my opinion which no one axed for.

I appreciate the info though. I'm really hoping to make a trip to the keys one day. Sounds silly, but I just want to drive across the bridge, and see it down there.

I think Biel is the best Jessica, Mac and cheese sucks, BBQ spaghetti is nasty, Dustin Hoffman and the Beatles are waaay overrated....etc.

Only thing most agree with me on is the #gatorsuck.

You are right about South Beach sucking. Wrong about BBQ sketti though.

Thanks. Last year, we went to Ft. Lauderdale for a few days then drove down to Key West for a few nights (We are going through all the Hilton points we've accumulated over the years).

This year, the social coordinator wants to do the same thing; however, but prefers Miami instead of Ft. Lauderdale. Our options are:
a. Doing Ft. Lauderdale again (the nonstop Allegiant flight from MEM is nice) plus hotel points are more reasonable than Miami.
b. Doing either Miami location. Considering the beaches in Key West leave a little to be desired, I think she's leaning Bentley. Part of me is thinking doing FLL and save $$$ with points and flight. Downside is you add another 45 mins on drive to KW.
c. Just doing Key West the entire time. Downside are flights out of MEM. In addition, Casa Marina is a lovely location but the hotel is dated.

Considering that we are probably bringing the youngest, I think (a) is the best.

If you bring the kid and just want beach time, I would say FLL or the Bentley.

I am fairly cheap and I would like to use a bunch of Hilton points that are getting devalued as we speak. Where are some good places on the West coast of Florida to stay. I've stayed in Clearwater (that area in a zoo in late December and prefer to be further south as well) and Marco Island (like the area but the Hilton resort there is meh)

I don't really know as I don't travel much. I don't like Tampa but Ybor city is cool. Venice Beach is really nice and it's like the shark tooth capital of the world if you're into that stuff. Sanibel and Captiva here in my stomping grounds are world renowned for shelling. There's some fine shelling and dolphin watching for sure.
