Have you ever seen a house fire where the stove turned on automatically and caught something on top of it (say a paper towel or paper plate) on fire?

I have never seen one turn on by itself, but I'm sure you know the best habit is never to leave anything laying on the stove top. Crazy things can happen with electronic devices.
