What weirded me out was he said I had two tickets.

I haven't had a ticket since 2007. I can't believe that it still showed up!

Not sure how long they keep those active when they do a check. DUI's show up forever. Like OE said, he was looking /hoping to get you on something else.
 
Ah. That explains a lot. I think I had 2 in 2007.

Last ticket I had was in 2007. Coming through Wyoming. I was in a area where there is about 15-20 miles between exits. Straight and flat road. Have no idea where the trooper came from. Got me dead to rights on speeding.
 

It was deserved. I've changed my driving habits a lot since moving to Utah. Being the outdoors type of state that it is, there are people everywhere on the surface streets that are running, walking, biking, skateboarding, etc. I keep it well under the posted limit.

I noticed that when my sister lived in seattle and i visited her there weren't that many people that went fast. the majority were going the speed limit or maybe 5 over.
 
Might be the same way there. Seattle is pretty active with people all out and about. Or, could be just the culture.
