I will be completely honest and say that Sanders made some great plays in the LSU game. What hurt him was that in the first half, and even a couple plays in the second half the players did not execute. Its not the OC's fault when he calls a beautiful play to the FB streaking up the sideline wideopen and he drops it. There were a number of plays like that last night. I think a number of Sanders problems in the first two games was not his calls, but the QB and WR executing them. Ainge is NOWHERE near Clausen in terms of "being a QB." Ainge is a great "combine QB" but nobody wins a football game at a combine. Physical tools are only part of the equation and Ainge's mental aspect of his game is way below where it needs to be to be a successful SEC QB.

I agree. The numbered of dropped passes by wide open players was ridiculous. Its one thing to drop a pass when your about to get ahead but when nobody is touching you?? what the #@$@$@!!

Randy called the plays in the second half last night also. Maybe I didn't see what you saw but 34 points in the last half looked like a plan working to me.

Some on this board have said that our OC could make adjustments but last night proves them WRONG. :bad:

I'm not bashing Sanders here but the difference between the first and second half was all Clausen and the defense. Randy was just calling the plays that fit Rick. I don't really see it as an adjustment on his part.

Our team just started executing in that second half and it turned out to be a beautiful thing.

Lest we all forget.  Cutliffe had a small advantage over Sanders. The advantage was someone named Manning who might have given a bit more impetous to the UT offense than we have had since.

With Peyton at quarterback, I might be a good Offensive Coordinator.

He also had Heath Shuler and Todd Helton to work with. Now tell me Randy has'nt had the talent...

Like many Im have been negative on RS in the past, but last night I think he called a beautiful game. Ugly in execution, but in spirit it could have produced a butt-load of points. The first half it was only gas but in the second half we got the movement we needed. Now to just stay regular. If he keeps this up, I'm going to have to do alot of repenting and hold my nose.

It takes more than one game to change seasons of bad play-calling, It's called being fair weather...Ypu have to be able to make quick adjustments and RS has proved on more than one occasion that he cant..

At one point last night I was for firing the whole offensive staff! Seriously I do think Pat Washington needs to go!

World Hunger is Randy Sanders' fault. (Sarcasm off) Some people will never give the man credit....lack of execution = RS fault. A 21 point comeback = players heart and determination. WTF? Last night showed that when the players actually execute, RS gameplans work just fine. He is not going to wow you with X's and O's, but when we execute the "crappy" gameplan and playcalling we score.

Amen to that. Has UT football ever been SEVENTEEN possessions in a row without scoring? A half does not make up for his previous and future performances.

i think randy sanders gameplans have alot of potential but when ur limted to 20 yards a pass because u cant throw deep its hard to put up 40 a game. i think we should praise my man john chavis on the defensive strategy
