Rank 'Em: Wooden Award favorites

I'd love to see Doug McDermott win it. Not nearly as flashy as last year's POTY in Jimmer but his stats are better at this point in the season and Creighton's having a great year as well. For him to be ranked 11th in this poll is hilariously wrong.

Well, the polls are obviously skewed by the BBN, we always blow up a poll. I think it comes down to 4 Players in the end:

Davis
Sullinger
Barnes
Robinson

Does the winner get an under-the-table cash prize? Otherwise, they should change the name of the award.

How anyone self-respecting, objective basketball fan can pick anyone over Robinson is beyond me. The guard play for Kansas is marginal and the team is inexperienced. They were picked to be a top 15-top 20 team and Robinson may turn them into a 1 seed.

Davis and Robinson have run away from the pack, it's a two man race, and a hard one to pick. Right now it looks like the media has jumped on Davis as the frontrunner, I'm still in the middle.

If Robinson is one of the top two, then he's overrated.

Davis is the clear #1. I think Sullinger should be #2. And Mike Scott, Tyler Zeller, Doug McDermott, and Thomas Robinson are all lumped together.

Robinson is averaging 17/12, Sully is at 17/9. Robinson has 18 double/doubles, Sully has 10. It's not just a stats game either, Robinson is carrying a less talented KU team week to week in the rankings, while Sully has been a no show in a couple games and just average in others, with a better team.

Robinson is playing better ball, on a lesser team.

Davis in my gut is the clear #1 right now, but by seasons end I still think it can be either of the two.

Supporting cast and balance affects shot attempts, it does not affect portions of the game like rebounds, thats all hustle and effort. TR plays with more intensity than Sully, more often than not. Robinson has almost doubled up Sully in double/doubles. Not to mention, POY isn't just a stats game, it takes into effect where you play and how your team finishes. Kansas isn't even ranked without Robinson, IMO.

AD's defense is what keeps him a clear #1.

Am I saying that TR is a better pro-prospect that Sully? No way. A better all around player? No way. But based on what he's doing and the team he is doing it for, he is a better candidate for POY. JMO.

If you want to talk about a player carrying a less talented team, Mike Scott and Doug McDermott are it. Kansas is very talented compared to those teams.
