I agree with that, except I think Ga is better then SC, simply from an available talent viewpoint. Ga is loaded with talent every year. They don't have great struggles replacing players when they graduate.

Again, wouldn't fall out of my chair to see your prognostication turn out to be accurate. Tennessee has talent and new offensive coordinator and the schedule turns more favorable whereas Florida is on the road for a lot of tough games. Georgia could easily finish second.

Someone else said it -- its wide open this year.

Exactly, your western conference opponents are as tough as they get this year: Bama, LSU, and Auburn, on top of that you play us in Neyland and UGA is always a tough game for you guys. You guys could have a good team next year and still lose 3 SEC games...

UGA, on the other hand, has Ole Miss and MSU, along with their annual Auburn matchup.

Once again, sixty minutes in September versus the alligators decides the top o'the East....

Funny thing about that. Seems that every year you can point to one SECE game on the schedule that you think will decide who wins the division. And every year it is still up for grabs quite awhile after that. Those "determinative" games in the SECE hardly ever seem to actually turn out that way.

Not to rain on the optimistic train of this post but didn't we forget last season? Pre season #2 or 3? Ended up worse that Vandy Intra Squad list above. Personally I won't list anything until week four. But if we base it off the same QB and recievers last year.

Florida (+3)
SC (+1)
Georgia (Tie w/ TN)
Tennessee (Tie w/ GA)
Vandy (-4)

LSU runs away with West
Alabama -3 (Bama wins Iron Bowl) to break Tie
Auburn - 3

Who cares about the rest.

You'd have to be right about that, because of course you do still have the rest of the schedule to play. But as regards UT/UF, man if you lose that game it sure seems like you are looking up at Mount Everest in the week following the game. No, it doesn't actually determine the champion. Certainly is the catbirds seat though, and the little boost in ranking that usually follows that game does not hurt either.

Maybe it doesn't "determine", but it sure is a good indicator of whether the championship is taking I-75 North or South...

The other game that always seems to play second fiddle even though it is every bit as important is UT/UGA and of course UF/UGA. The winner of the UT/UF game sure gets a nice head start but the UGA games will determine whether or not you have a log jam at season's end.

It does seem like that the week after. And two weeks later its one of about four games you can point to on your schedule that are "determinative" !! LOL.

Just like last year, everyone is underestimating Georgia.

I probably am. But then, I'm not feigning objectivity either.
It's just ingrained in me that if you beat the alligators you oughta win the east.
Doesn't always work out that way, but I'm a creature of habit.
Esteeming Georgia lowly is just how I am... :D

What amazes me is that there seems to be just as much "fear" of SC as UGA. I just don't get it.

One word: Spurrier.

Hey, even us Gators are worried about them now because "He" is now coaching there. Think he hates UT? Just imagine how much Mr. Pure Competition wants to beat Florida at Florida this year.
