Ranking All 32 BCS Finalists...

Oh how quickly they forget the absolute dominance of that defense. I'd take that defense against anyone, anytime, anywhere -- that and the running game from 1998. I'd take it against anyone. I still think about what might have been, had David Cutcliffe decided to turn down the Ole Miss job that offseason ...

But, such is life. Most people don't even remember 1998; I feel like most recall Oklahoma's coming out party as the beginning of the BCS.

i dont think so. i see it as a replay of the 08 game with florida and the sooners. "high powered" yet overrated team finally faces a real threat from the sec and gets beat handily

EHHHHHH..... oh so close!

For the non-ESPN Insiders, where do they have 01 Miami and 05 Texas? I'd put both of those 2 ahead of 10 Auburn, who I don't remember as being nearly that dominant.

And who was the worst finalist? Guessing either 01 Nebraska, 07 Ohio St, or 12 Notre Dame.

You're right on Nebraska but wrong on needing to be an ESPN insider .. I clicked it and it came right up

I agree w/ UT being around 15.

I think 2010 Auburn is overrated - I'd put them down near us at 15.

I don't think there has been a truly dominant team in the BCS era. And by dominant I mean a team that was clearly in a different class from any team they played. 1995 Nebraska is the last truly dominant team I remember.

Having said that, 2001 Miami was the closest you will get in the BCS era.

Tennessee is better than 14.

At a minimum we are 10th - given that there have been 10 undefeated BCS champs.
But I would also say that we were obviously better than 2002 Ohio State and 2010 Auburn. I think we are obviously better than this year's Seminole squad, even though they were never challenged until the BCS title game. But Auburn's defense is not very good and they had the Noles hamstruck almost all night.
