Ranking the Hardest Games of the 2014 Schedule

Think the GA and USCjr games won't be as bad, but Ole Miss might surprise and don't like OK game either.

Hopefully can win 2 of the 5 mentioned.

That would be very nice indeed. I think getting one of them would even be pretty good progress.

Even if we don't win any of those five and win all the others we are 7-5 and bowling. Would be an improvement over last year. That said however, I would really like to steal one of those big wins as well. I'll be watching hopefully

Bama will be tough, QB is their only question.
Ok looked real good at the end of the year, bama didn't bring their A game, so it is tough to say just how good they are. road game too!
USCe lost less than 10 players from last year but they were all good (Shaw, Clowney, Quarles, WR, CB,etc).
Road game too. Let's get that visor dirty!
Ole Miss and Georgia are pretty evenly matched but I think Ole Miss has advantaged on team leadership and coaching. Ole Miss best players are trying to get kicked off the team though. Both road games.
gators are at Neyland and this is the year to beat them but it won't be easy. They still have great defensive players but I don't think they have the depth of past years. They lose 4 oline starters and Driscoll will be easier to contain with new team speed. I think we squeak by...barely.
Mizzou lost 9 starters on defense, 2 WRs starters, RB starter and QB starter. We should beat them at home.
Utah State will be a defining game for us as there will be at least 6 new starters on offense ( I don't see Downs starting), not counting QB/WR battles. We will also see 4 new starters on Dline, 1 at LB, and possibly 2-3 more in secondary. Team speed and talent will be a boost but we will be very green for this game and thus higher potential for mistakes.
Vandy has had high turnover on Defense, WRs, QB, Coaches and their recruiting class imploded. We get revenge.
Kentucky will be scrappy and improved but we improve at least as much as they do. We may blow them out if we are having a good season and are confident.
ArkSt and Chatt aren't pushovers but we should win these by at least 17 points.

Where is Florida in this list? We've lost 19 of the last 25 and 9 in a row. They're our automatic perennial loss in my mind until we actually beat them again. I think we have a better chance to beat USCar, Georgia and Ole Miss than we do the Gators.

List is otherwise pretty good.

Agree with you except I would swap UGA and USCe based on team talent. Obviously SOS outclasses Richt though so you could be right.

This is Freeze's do or die year at Ole Miss. His great class should now be ready to contribute... if they don't get kicked off. If he doesn't make a fairly serious move then he's likely to be unemployed in sometime in '15.

bama should be a win if the fans are loud enough. bottom line. Alabama should come away from that game with a loss and half the team going deaf or with at least permanent hearing loss.

Is my sarcasm meter broken again 105? Bama SHOULD be a win? Come on now.... appreciate your optimism, but come on now....

I agree with this list but some will probably argue Utah St

What makes Utah State a tough game is that it is the opener and first game start for 9 linemen, 1 LB, 2-3 in secondary, PK, Punter and whatever the final outcome of the QB/WR battles are.

Keeping mistakes to a minimum against an overperforming, experienced, Senior laden Mountain West team is key.

I think they are happy with Freeze. Egg Bowl and being shutout in bama are only dissappointments so far and they already have 2-3 upsets in his 2 years there. Didn't they beat Auburn and aTm last year?

Other than Muschump, no SEC coaches should be in real danger unless MissST falters or Arky further implodes.

Of course a "Mike Price, Bruce Pearl or Jerry Sandusky" event can take any coach down.

don't bow down to the bammers. resist the urge.

Not bowing govols, just keeping it real. In the last 5 years, while we were going 28-34 and losing 2 bowls games, Bama went 59-7 and won 3 National Championships. I think they're program is a little better than ours right now. Predicting Bama will win kinda seems like the prudent position to take at the moment.

Countdown to another looong season!

IDK what you mean by "another"? We've been putting together nice short seasons for a while :p

But yeah its not going to be a cakewalk, just like it never is. I think we have every chance to steal a big one though depending how our offense and defense OF lines play

So crowd noise is the biggest factor in any particular game?

Learn something new every day, I guess...

Ole Miss didn't beat Auburn last season, but they did beat LSU (along w/ A&M). Honestly, a win over LSU is probably a bigger win to their fan base than beating Auburn. It would be like the Vols beating Georgia or Florida.

Disagree. Freeze isn't on any kind of hot seat and doesn't look like he will be. He's done alot with that program. He took over a 2-10 team and he's gone to back-to-back bowl games. He beat Texas and LSU last year. He brought in a top 5 recruiting class, signing the top players at several positions. Judging by the posters here, if Butch Jones had been that successful, they would give him a statue and a lifetime contract. Don't tell me Ole Miss (who hasn't even competed for a conference championship in 50 years) has higher standards than we do.
