It’s the situational plays that have killed us. We cut down on those this weekend while the bats lit up, culminating in complete domination for roughly two games.

After the midweek, 6-spot drop with Bellarmine win, The Vols gained an RPI spot after Mississippi State win. Now back to #30

SEC RPI going in to Friday games

#1 South Carolina
#2 Kentucky
#4 LSU
#5 Arkansas
#7 Vanderbilt
#10 Florida
#22 Alabama
#26 Georgia
#30 Tennessee
#38 Missouri
#39 Mississippi State
#44 Texas A&M
#47 Auburn
#73 Mississippi

The RPI is strange. No one thinks Alabama and Georgia are better than Tennessee and no one would believe the Aggies are only the 12th best team in SEC.

Looking behind the numbers:
Georgia's RPI is elevated as they've only played five Quartile-4 games (4-1). Tennessee has played 13
Kentucky has played only five as well (5-0)
Alabama is 11-9 against Q1. Tennessee is 9-11

Being such a small school, I think Campbell would move heaven and earth to host a regional. They would throw up lots of temporary bleachers to make it happen. Who knows? Here’s their list of accommodations: Accommodations Near Buies Creek | Visit | Campbell University

If Maryland could host last year then Campbell certainly can.
They could end up at a MiLB stadium somewhere like ECU used to do.
Tons of those places between Fayetteville and Raleigh/Durham

A year or two ago Charlotte said if they hosted they’d move it to a new stadium in Gastonia.

With all games complete - in the SEC at least, the Vols finish the week at #21 in RPI

RPI (Live) 2023 College Baseball | WarrenNolan.com

That's up 5 spots on the week
The jumps up to 23 even against a Non-conference SOS of 208.

Wake Forest goes to #1 from #4, leapfrogging three SEC teams. 2-6 are all SEC.
The Vols big leap today is because South Carolina, LSU, and Arkansas all won.

Georgia sitting there one spot behind at 23rd in rpi provides a nice opportunity to get some additional top 25 rpi wins. Vols are 28-4 at home, and 1-9 on the road this year BUT Georgia is 15-10 at home. Big opportunity to put ourselves firmly in hosting position with a series win this weekend.
