Man, kids from good parents leave the home for the first time and still find themselves in situations that they were not raised to be involved in. It happens all the time. The hope is that eventually as they grow older, they return to those teachings and morals that they were raised with.

Placing the blame of a girl taking a knee at a soccer game on the parents is a bit extreme and it removes any personal responsibility on the daughter.

If I had a daughter right now in college, I could think of several things far worse than taking a knee at a damn meaningless soccer game. And I bet that if you thought hard enough, you could come up with several things also.

In their last big tournament didn't they really suck (by US standards)? It's likely a combo of age and distraction- Rapinoe especially is too busy believing she's some special gift to humanity to actually play decently. I can't imagine having to be a teammate with her.

She might be washed up.
They might be tired of her.

But it looks like there were quite a few left off this roster. I don’t think this is representative of what they would send to the World Cup or anything.

People will talk themselves into anything they want to believe. They are grooming their team for the next WC. She will be fkn 38 and soccer is a sport where most people are cooked by age 30 because of its demands. I would understand if they left her off because they are ready to move onto the next generation. I would understand if they left her off because of her experience (she doesn't need the reps) and plan on having her for the next WC. Either way, it would be a very impressive achievement to make the best roster in the world at age 38.

They left quite a few off this roster. The next WC roster will look different if I had to guess.
