I'll say this as simply as I can: if you think Pearl will ever be coach again, then you are pretty much a moron. And the fact you think it has ANYTHING to do with defending Martin pretty much verifies that.

Because even if we offered he wouldn't come. Steven Pearl has said it himself on his show that his dad is not coming back. Move on. If/when CCM gets shown to the door we aren't getting Pearl back. There are other coaches out there that don't run a controlled chaos (CBP) or a stupid motion like we run now (CCM)...now if Pearl runs that press like he had so much success with earlier in his career I'd want him back. But I don't want anymore Tatumm's, swiper's, Hall's, mcbee's, etc. move on whether it's CCM or not I don't want Pearl!!

I don't really give a crap who we hire as long as he is a consistent winner who gets us to the tourney, and even wins a few tourney games. I only say Pearl because we know he can do that. If Pearl doesn't want to come back, that is one thing, but we shouldn't be afraid to rehire him because of what happened.

As much as I liked the Pearl coached teams, he committed the ultimate amateur athletics sin, he lied to the governing body. We impeached a president for lying. At what point do we sacrifice the high moral ground to win? I don't necessarily agree with Martin as the solution, but I don't want a proven liar as the face of the University. JMHO, flame away.

Fine, you go root for Oral Roberts or Liberty Univ. and keep your holier than thou attitude. I want to win ball games and compete for championships. Pearl didn't do anything that bad, a mere secondary bbq violation. He just panicked about it when caught off guard and lied. It could happen to a lot of people. He paid a much steeper price for it too than other coaches have for much greater offenses. He deserves another chance somewhere.

FYP. Not holier than thou my friend, Just my opinion. We are UT, not UK. If we can't do it right then we are no better than any other program. I want to win as much as anybody, but I think we should do it the right way. If that makes me appear holier than thou then I apologize.
