Real Baseball Is Officially Back.

There have been no wild swings in his #'s one way or the other. If he is juiced then he is using stuff that can't be detected yet. He's been "randomly" tested a bunch and no issue thus far. He did however bring on himself by saying MLB can test him all they want. But for the games sake I hope he stays negative in his tests.

That shows up on the tests. He's tested neg on that as well.

It shows up on blood tests most of the time, but they only do those in the minor leagues as of right now. There is absolutely no test in the Majors that tests for HGH now.

Not sure one way or the other on that. But I do know that he has stated that he will take any test for any substance at any time. He can't do more than that.

Jr. got a raw deal playing in the steroid era.

It is great to see good defense and team speed rewarded once again.

Exactly. Especially the teams that play in the Southern heat.

My bad. Honestly just didn't realize that was the case, I was thinking it could sustain starters and boost relievers just as much... But i see what you mean.

I agree, love seeing some actual good baseball, not HR derby... maybe casual fans can realize this is not BORING, this is how it should be.

There is no test in the majors that can detect HGH. And he can squawk about any test any time as long as he knows the players association is preventing the league from conducting blood tests.

But he has said he will do all. I know some hate the red birds but he has said he will do ALL

I don't hate them at all. I mean Im a Yankee fan for goodness sakes. I just know it's easy to promise something that you know will never happen.

Amphetamines are much, much more useful to a guy who plays every day.

I've heard lack of amphetamines for position players as a theory for the number of perfect games/no hitters this year. Hard to point to it as hard evidence but does seem plausible.

The guys who really got a raw deal in the era they played are those like Craig Biggio, who produced enormous amounts of offense with middling home run numbers to mask that fact.

It also did a lot to mask how truly historically dominant Pedro Martinez was from 1997-2002.

You're operating under the assumption that Biggio was the one clean guy on a roster of bigtime juicers. I give him no such benefit of the doubt. When your best friends in baseball include Steve Finley, Luis Gonzalez, Ken Caminiti, and Jeff Bagwell, I'm going to assume birds of a feather.

The Denkinger call was '85. '87 was the year Jack Clark missed the postseason with injuries.

He missed a lot of the 2nd half with injuries. I believe he had 28 homers at the break and finished with 35. Also worth noting that Terry Pendleton missed the Series as well due to an injury. Those two were easily the two biggest bats in the lineup.

I believe that was the 1st time that the home team won every game of the World Series.

How dare you underestimate Jim Lindeman?

Ken Caminiti . . . now that poor guy was seriously screwed up. I think he ingested everything known to man.
