Really like Fred White

My point was that, from the standpoint of probability, 6-6 is more likely that us making the playoffs with this roster. Not my prediction, but to date, I've not seen anything to lead me to the conclusion that 6-6 is that unrealistic.
Ok that makes sense. I'd be happy with 9-3 if we look competitive and do the small things the right way. Who knows maybe Nico takes over at some point this year and propels us

Joe not recognizing a free first down when players were running off sums up the game. Instead of getting an offsides, we get a turnover on downs.

Defense not stopping two 3rd down conversions led to 7 min drives on both. One qtr of football on two drives.
Hope folks won't take this the wrong way. I'm not saying Milton is stupid, however, he lacks the mental makeup/ability to process the game to the degree that you need from an SEC caliber QB especially in Heupels system. He's got size and an arm, but he's a poor fit for this offense and this league. I can appreciate Heupel and co giving him his shot because he is, by all accounts, a good guy and great teammate, but in hindsight, that loyalty was a mistake. Having said that, it's not entirely his fault. His OL and WRs have done him precious few favors. And to be perfectly honest, I knew the offense was not going to be anything like last year. Just not gonna happen. That was special. Probably won't see another Heupel offense that productive again. Still, the most shocking disappointment is how our defense has performed. I bought into the hype about how great this DL and Garner were. We had big upgrades at LB and yeah, it was addition by subtraction to a degree. The secondary was, is and will always be suspect under uncle Willie, but I really thought the defense could help take up the slack created by the offense falling off. To see tackling like we've seen is inexplicable outside of the obvious....coaching.

Can the ship be righted? Certainly. Will we be talking Orange bowl again? Nope. More likely to need reservations in Nashville or Memphis to be realistic.

Unless some things change dramatically, 8-4 is the ceiling for this team. If I had to bet, it’d be 6-6 and maybe 7-5.

And neither result would deter my belief in CJH. The roster on this team has not yet been completely rebuilt. But we have talented young players and, most importantly, a very highly rated young QB.
