Really strange or weird music

I'm not sure what would be considered strange or weird to some people. There is probably a lot I could post, but I don't know if it fits or not. It's definitely not mainstream. I like this band from Ukraine called DakhaBrakha. Some of it sounds traditional for their culture, but then they have some strange elements like in the first song they perform in this video the ladies make a lot of bird calling and various noises. It's worth a listen. I would say strangely beautiful. They have great voices.

Not sure if this fits here either, but this isn't mainstream and could be considered strange by some

I thought about posting some Tom Waits as well. I was going to go see The Residents, but I ended not being able to make it. My friend went, he really likes them. They have such a huge catalogue.

they do great covers

love the vibe of this one

In that same vein:

A tad odd but quite good actually

Played on reindeer bones. Def different for some but Wardruna is pulling from their ancient pagan ancestors - if it sounds familiar, they also had the soundrack for the tv show Vikings.

And while odd to some, if you close your eyes in the dark and listen to the Faeroese siren Eivør singing Trøllabundin, you may find it hard not to grab an axe and go out looking like this

This is really good, enjoyed that. Gonna have to look into more of them. I like the sort of spoken word. Reminds me of some of what Slint did. (More so the spoken word, not really trying to sing much rather than the music.)

I like these guys. It's quite experimental. Some other bands this song reminds me of though would be someone like M83. (This band has been under a bunch of different names, don't have much of a following. Once called Skeletons & the Kings of all Cities or Skeletons and the Girl Faced Boys.)

Yes! Vikings got me into Wardruna, and Wardruna got me into Heilung. I'll have to check those others you posted as well.

Gandalf! A man of great taste! I have the eiovir and the Kent on my list too. I have never met anyone else who had even heard of them! We need to share music lists!

Eivør is Faeroese (as you likely know). There is some awesome music that comes out of those islands. They have a great tradition of communal dancing and singing. This is one of my favourites
