I think it's because of Deshaun Watson saying that because he's black, people assume he's a dual threat QB, which i kinda think is true.

It blew up on the radio yesterday because deshaun watson tweeted it or something. I guess Joe Montanna and Doug Flutie are too old for 2016 to remember.

My guess is someone on the blog 'o sphere typed something that bothered him so he felt compelled to type his feelings. Life is a digital facsimile now. It was grabbed and retweeted and went pandemic before it ever had any context because that's how 2016 communicates. Thoughts transferred faster than we can communicate them clearly with no context. It's the borg hive mind collective. My guess is he probably learned a lesson about modern life and that he might even regret it. JMO.

Guess DeShaun Watson forgot he rushed for 1100 yards and became the 1st QB in history to throw for 4000+ and rush for 1000+. He's the quintessential DT QB.

Tebow was a DT, Mariotta was a DT, Mayfield is a DT. We're not singling out the blacks Deshaun.

Manziel

Alex Smith

Anybody that played at Nebraska pre-2005 or so

IMO guys like Aaron Murray and Chad Kelly are dual threat

I think of him as a DT QB because he can flat out fly and has a cannon arm.......................Mariota is a DT QB and last time I checked, he's not black.

People used to think DT QBs weren't cut out for the NFL

But 4 of the top 5 guys can all run (and do run)

Rodgers
Wilson
Luck
Newton

Johnnie Football wasnt that far ago. I never once heard he was anything other than a duel threat QB.

He flat out said it was a racist term.

He was being pretty ridiculous.

To be fair, he was asked the question by a Bleacher Report "reporter" and he didn't really say it was racist, only that he thought that when people say 'dual-threat' they mean black QB. And I will freely admit that when I see 'dual threat' listed under a QB's name I assume it is a black QB.

Deshaun Watson Hates Dual-Threat QB Code Word, Wants to Be Face of CFB | Bleacher Report

But part of the question was in relation to DT QB's chances of success in the NFL, and that is his concern with the stereotype.

I can think of white and black dual threat QBs.

I'm having a hard time thinking of black pro-style QBs.
