Says the kid who's probably never visited
Florida....Palm Beach, Boca Raton and Coral Gables have a bunch of NY/NJ transplants. The rest of South Florida is speaking primarily Spanish or French (Haitian), unless they slip up and and speak broken English.

And the further north you go, the more we Florida natives sound like Southerners.

Yes I've been to that retirement dump more times than I've wanted to. I have a very good friend that played ball down near pahokee and now lives in citrus county,Fl (crystal river).

Yes he does!! He sound straight like a Yankee, first time we met he told me he had never heard anyone talk with a twang like I do. He was amazed!! My exgf and I who is also from Florida watched the movie rosewood and she got pissed at the movie because she said people in Florida don't talk hick like they depicted in the movie.

Either we have a different opinion of what a Yankee sounds like, or you're talking out of your ass. There's plenty of southern-sounding "hicks" in Florida, specifically North Florida.

All I know is, when I visit that dump they don't sound like me. Is that plain enough for you.

uncalled for. its a great city cause when you are there you know you are just a few minutes from Destin

LOL my wife grew up in Defuniak, we stop by on our way to Destin. Your right, Destin is the best part of Defuniak. But they have a perfectly round lake and the highest point in florida! :birgits_giggle:

I don't know what is worse: this MS-paint crapfest posing as a program or the fact that I've laughed at all the great responses. Well done.

I love me some defuniak. Been going there for more than 30 years visiting my grandparents. There are some there though who remain backward in their thinking. Just ask a local why nobody is allowed to swim in that lake.
