Making plans to travel to CWS and need recommendations. Never been and this is one of my bucket list items, so any recommendations will be appreciated. Should you wait and buy tickets there? Any places to stay away from? Where do other UT fans hang out at? Golf courses for the off days? Thanks in advance! Go Vols

Hang around. I’ve never been. Somebody will point ya in the right direction. Where you coming from?

While you can wait to buy tickets there, it’s unlikely you’ll get any desired great seats.

DJs Dugout in the downtown area, or any other similar sports themed bar-restaurant in the downtown Omaha area is my guess where the Volunteers fans are going to be relaxing at to hang out at.

For the Golf courses here a link from a reliable great travel website.

I would also recommend Top Golf which has a swanky lounge, and a high tech driving range.

I expect you’ll enjoy Omaha.

Go to Davlo Pizza, or Rosati's Pizzeria if you want to eat Chicago deep dish pizza.

Also, Zesto is the great place to go if you are craving Ice Cream.

Omaha does have a movie theater in the downtown area, although less expensive if you go to the Aksarben Cinema even though it’s outside of the downtown area.

I went last year for the first time. My notes are below.
Tickets- I waited until just an hour before game time to buy all my tickets. Prices dropped quick and got good seats to most of the games (Ticketmaster). Looks like it will be hot so if we have the day game try to sit on 3rd base side row 25 and up to get some shade. It got crazy hot last year. Also, go to the other games not just TN. My kids liked sitting in the outfield first few rows but direct sun all day.

Parking- parking was easy and never had a problem. Paid $30 a day to park.

Hotels- if you can afford it $400+ night stay close to the stadium. We stayed 20 min away and still paid $250 a night but had to watch how much we drank😁.

General info- had a blast watched 8 games in 4 days . Kids loved all the vendor stuff . Stadium has water towers for free refills. Plenty of restaurants around and bars within walking distance. Easy drive to Omaha , 10 hours from west TN.

Any other questions let me know!

We went in 2021 & 2023.

We stayed at the Holiday Inn & Suites in Council Bluffs, Iowa (next to the casino) in 2021. Five-minute drive to the stadium.
We stayed at the DoubleTree by Hilton Omaha in 2023. A little further drive but no big deal.

Parking is easy. They have automated parking meters, with an app that shows where you parked. There are also lots all around for reasonable all-day parking.

There are several bars and restaurants around the stadium. We spent some time in a few during a rain delay before the Tennesse game.

For hats and t-shirts, the fan experience is the only place to get the official gear. Look at everything before you decide, unless you want multiples.

The Old Market is near the stadium (maybe not walking distance), but there are many really nice places to eat. The Old Market in Omaha NE - Omaha's Arts & Entertainment District

Take sunscreen. The heat and sun can be brutal. You will get shade on the 1st base side later in day, but it gets hot.

There are really no bad seats in that place. We went in early and walked the entire stadium. It is really nice. They do an excellent job.

Enjoy it. It is a fantastic experience. Wish I could go this year.

Our seats in 2021 vs. Virginia (Fathers Day).

People often miss this tidbit when planning an Omaha trip. Council Bluffs, Iowa is 5 mins from the stadium (right across the bridge). You can even park for free on the Iowa side and walk across the pedestrian bridge. Hotels are 1/2 the cost and yet still closer than anything outside of downtown.

I worked catastrophic insurance claims out in the plains for several years. Oklahoma...Texas...Kansas... Nebraska. If you drive out there make sure when you're not behind the wheel to drink and drink heavily. It will ease the pain of the road out there. 😆 Trust me.

We’re at the Holiday Inn in Council Bluff; do they run a shuttle across the river at all?

Not that we saw. It truly is a simple drive, and easy to find parking within 1/2 a mile or less from the stadium.

Thanks for the information! My dad passed a few weeks ago and he told me that if we made it to Omaha, to go. It will feel funny on Sunday being there without him but he told me to go so I am! Loved the pictures! Go Vols

Sorry for your loss. Stay strong and enjoy the experience. It was special spending it with my son the first trip. It wasn’t hard to talk me into the second trip.
It really is a fantastic experience. Here’s hoping it’s more joyful as they stack some W’s.
