Recruit Pronunciation Guide

You sure about that one? sounds French and that'd make it Le Mahn Yay

I'm sure that that's the way the Rivals guys pronounce it but they could be wrong. The correct pronunciation is Lay-mone-'air. Could be that Corey pronounces it differently.

good thread. probably one of the most informative in a while. Its no wonder my dog couldn't understand what I was talking about when I read to him all the recruiting info... I was butchering all the kids names!

Yeah I think it is actually Lay-mone-air. There is a military base in Africa called Camp Lemonier and that's how it is pronounced.

Also on some of Seastrunk's highlights the announcers say "La-Shay". I would think his high school would know how to pronounce his name.

for the 10 millionth time, he is Haitian and it's correctly pronounced as "luke", but the Americanized pronunciation would be "luck." he is a soft-spoken kid that's obviously not set on correcting people constantly.

next year people will be saying "llluuuke" from the stands when he makes a tackle, not "llluuuucckkk."

Dude. Lache says it himself as "Lake." I think he'd know how to pronounce his own name.

I guess it came off as me trying to act like I knew what I was talking about. I don't. I was just repeating what I had heard. Lighten up Francis.

No, it didn't. I was just mirroring the last part of your post. I knew you were saying that you "assumed" they would know how to pronounce it. :salute:

I'm just calling him Lemon tbh. Simpler, a decent enough nickname, and he's probably heard it before.

Yeah, I was listening to Rivals Radio yesterday and Newberg kept calling him Day-Rick.

What's funny is the fact that I've been butchering Seastrunk's name by calling him La-Shay.
