I couldn't resist voting. Under the circumstances, I would say a B. Would have been nice to have landed some of the "big Fish" we were in on, but we wouldn't have even been having the discussion with most before the arrival of CJP.

Any way you cut it, On paper this is the least talented recruiting class I have seen for Tennessee since I started following recruiting in the early 2000s.

Need to revisit this in February of 2019. Hell, the day isn't even done yet.

While I'm at it, have a little perspective. This is a freaking college football signing class. This is supposed to be a leisure activity, entertainment. I can understand Pruitt having mild angina this afternoon because his livelihood actually depends on signing these players. I hope most of you are taking medication for your emotional instability.

I'll let you know after the Fat Lady sings.
She's warming up in the wings now.

It's obvious that most of these young men are just kids and still immature and really still unsure what they want.I do think many of those going to Alabama,Georgia and other stacked teams will not enjoy sitting on the bench most of the year when they could have came here and played immediately.

It’s a c I suppose. Won’t cut it in s.e.c. Hopefully recruiting will be a lot better in the future. If not we will be looking for another head coach down the road. That is unless Vince Lombardi is on our staff somewhere.

Gonna change my vote to F. We’re beating out schools like Tulane for a lot of our commits. A class like this sets you back a few years we are in trouble.

D-. Biggest needs were not met and barely even addressed. See DB's.

We have 10 secondary players now plus Byrd moving so that's 11. We added a few today including a *4 and Flowers would have been a *4 if he Focused purely on football.8 of those 10 were a *4 or *5 in atleast one service plus Byrd was also,so that's 9 or our 11 scholarship secondary players. 10 of the 13 if you count the 2 we signed today. Wouldn't say that is bad at all. Definitely room to improve but not a bad situation either. OLine is probably the only huge issue we have. And even there it's more a lack of bodies and depth than no talent. We added a couple *4 OLine guys but definitely could have added atleast one more. Not getting Mays did hurt.QB we have no clue what we really have till they get real coaching. Could turn out pretty good or really bad.I really think we add at Grad Transfer QB and I'm sure they will keep an eye out for OLine help or anything else JP things could help.

This is truly pathetic. Were we not top 5 at the beginning of the 2017 season. I know the **** show that ensued but damn

How many of those CB's would be starting any where else?

Play it how you want but we needed quality CB's and we didn't get them. We whiffed.

What answer is the poll actually asking by the term "Recruiting Class Grade"?

Option #1 Actual Grade if we plan on returning to SEC Champion level
Option #2 Grade based on the otherworldly cluster the staff inherited

Didn't vote because it's not clear. But my ratings for #1 is B+ and #2 is D

Us being “top 5” earlier this year was fool’s gold, meant absolutely nothing given who was gonna coach them prior to Lyle getting his ass fired. I couldn’t have possibly cared less to be honest. And while this is indeed a disappointing class given how JP started off in the early signing period, I’m much more excited to see what he and his staff do with what they have......we already knew that Jones wasn’t gonna do ish with what he had.

We have talent on our current roster and recruited players that will get immediate playing time. With this class we live to fight another day. It's hard legally for a 4-8 team with a new coach to get a top 5 recruiting class...

Pruitt took over a nose-diving plane spiraling out of control at mach 3 toward the ground......and he pulled off a miracle landing with no one getting hurt. Yes, the wheels, tail-fins, engines and portions of wings are missing, but no one got hurt.

C+

It definitely won't set us back years, we got some good pieces. We just have to get back top 10 in recruiting next year.O U was #15 and #19 in 2015 and 2016 and hasn't kept them for competing for Championships. Wisconsin recruits in the 35-45 class ranking and they were 1 win from being in the playoffs. Clemson has been outside the top 10 a few times the last 5 classes and they are a staple in the playoffs. So no single class is gonna set many teams back.

I wonder how the guys promising that we would at least see a higher average rating of player would go up are feeling right about now?

The responses in this thread clearly show how unrealistic many Vol fans are. By being upset with this recruiting haul and talks like well if we don't sign a top 10 class next year then I will worry says a lot. Pruitt doesn't have a chance here with some of you.

How some can be disappointed with this class is amazing.
