Recruiting class taking a hit?

Trimming the fat is what we needed. We are temporarily dropping in the rankings only to make room for better players

I'm fine with that

Well, if we've been looking for a silver lining in our hostess gate, here it is. Ol' Mr. Want-to-be-a-bigshot in Memphis is not not talking to the media. He won't return phone calls or emails. How about you just stick to coaching AAU basketball and let the men handle coaching/recruiting Division 1 football.

Now the smoke is beginning to clear which should ease the minds of ANY recruit we need.

Dont you people remember last year? After NSD Kiffin and staff got Jackson,Ocu, Brown give it time.

That is not going to happen this year...

I'm not saying the sky is falling...or really worried about this class...but who are these better players? Or is that just pure optimistic speculation and you have no clue?

We know the real reasons why most of these guys (minus Willis) are dropping off UT's commit list.

But the media will use these decommits to amplify their coverage of Tennessee's NCAA review. This will now be portrayed as commits jumping ship because of expected violations and probation.

I got all the faith in the world in our coaching staff, but for devils advocate sake is this class taking a big loss losing jose deuce, harris, and Broussard. Also the possibilty of losing adams and willis. I didn't think harris or Broussard would get in anyways, but we need ol and willis would suck bad to lose. Not that these guys are amazing (except willis) but thats a lot of decommits to lose in a short period of time.

P.S. The sky hasn't got any closer to the ground. Just wanted some thoughts on how everyone is feeling about losing so many(possible) recruits.

clear sign we are in good with some big time recruits. We want Willis (would have loved for Harris to get in) but we are not going to be too sad for long

It looks like the question is being ignored. Who are these better players?

I think that Willis is our best commit so far, so this is not good.

Corey Lemonier, Bruce Irvin, C. Jones, Chaz Green, J. Cullen, D. Robinson, D. Wright, Nickell Robey, Justin Hunter, J. Stone (not as anti-UT as some think), A. Dixon, Michael Thornton, J. Whitaker, A. Kouandjio (and his younger brother in the package deal), Shon Coleman

We only have so much room.... We have at least a shot at each one of those guys. There are more. I was just going off the top of my head.

Hard to say who the best commit is right now. Depends on if you mean ready to play now or best commit in hindsight 4 years from now. I wouldn't put Willis at #1 in either scenario but he's a solid pick up. He will be a Vol.

Actually I like that list better because of the linemen. That bunch would make the 2012 Vols a pure nightmare for opposing teams.

Just Git r done.

They're all 3-stars. We'll replace them with 4-stars. Top three class.

Willis hasn't decommitted yet. Everyone stop panicking. He's going to Miami to visit,if and I say if he's blown away then he "might" have a change of heart.Jacq and Miller are going to keep on him no doubt.

That is not what i was referencing to...We would take all of those guys (room permitting) even if we still had Jose Jose or the others...

but to assume those are the players we are going to replace them with seems like a wish list...and a little naive...

A little naive is reading a post and twisting words.... that or not having comprehension to read. He said we at last have a shot with each one of those guys. I guarantee we land at least one and do not be surprised if we land four or five of those names. And also do not be surprised if we go after some names, and maybe land a name that no one in a million years would think we could get. I do realize the reason BB and JJ commited and stuff because we had a new coaching staff, but if the staff keeps at some people and gets them on campus, you never know what can happen.

No such thing as a wish list with the staff we have.

He will find that Miami is far different then UT.

I hope they show him that powerpoint trying to convince him of how safe the campus is.
