If our defense develops the way he's recruiting it to, I can see Tennessee having a defense that not a single team in the country wants to play against in the not-too-distant future.

Yes indeed. As much as it will pain the immediate-gratification portion of our fan base, the operative word in the short term remains "PATIENCE." Butch is most definitely bringing both the thunder and lightning back to Rocky Top.

Rex, I know you mostly post in the Football Forum, I'd like to see you more over here in the Recruiting Forum.

We would all be well served by your perspective and historical context.

Thank you very kindly. When you have been a faithful member of the Big Orange Nation for 47 years as I have, it is virtually impossible to not have an acutely historical perspective on our beloved program. I simply wish that the recruiting forum was not so narrowly defined. It is hard to incorporate the kind of historical threads that I love to post in this format. However, there is absolutely no question that the tone of discourse in the Recruiting Forum is far more positive than the Football Forum. Furthermore, the self-congratulatory sarcasm and, quite frankly, fluff for subject matter all too commonly found in the Football Forum is notably lacking here. If we can figure out a way to somehow stretch the parameters, in terms of new thread topics for this forum, I will be more than happy to accommodate your request.

6'7" 320 & 6'6" 330... Those guys were big

They didn't weigh anywhere near that as HS recruits. As draftees, yes.

We do have a tendency to meander over here in the Recruiting Forum: Football Talk thread so they created the Recruiting Forum Off Topic thread and now we can meander more...so Volosaurus...come on down!
